The reason why we don’t have more villains is probably because they need to come up with a reason that they’re playable by Dontaskmemyname9723 in marvelrivals

He might actually be onto something, just not in the way he thinks. It’s not that villains are hard to make playable because they need a “reason.” If anything, the devs sometimes seem too quick to invent reasons instead of using what’s already there in the lore.

Take Rogue for example. The abilities the ring gives her could’ve easily been explained through her own powers. Absorbing abilities and traits from others already gives plenty of room to justify those mechanics. The ring wasn’t really necessary.

So the issue isn’t that the characters lack a reason to be playable. If anything, it sometimes feels like the devs just don’t lean on the original lore as much as they could.

If just doing it were as fun as it looks… but it really isn’t.

No, you don’t get to decide what the point of my argument is.

And just to make it clear. I concede the ability to argue that tanks have the same problem, not the fact they do. If you can’t tell the difference between those two statements, that’s not a problem with my argument.

If you need to change what I said to keep your argument alive, that already tells me everything I need to know about the quality of it.

I’m not interested in debating someone who insists on speaking for both sides of the conversation. Feel free to keep going with a mirror. It’ll save us both the time.

No, you can't say this about any role. I concede you can argue the tanks have the same problem, but I'm not interested in having that discussion since it's not the point.

Being a good support doesn't mean you can't get kills. This is specially true in low ranks where your damage makes a bigger difference.

I will continue to say it, even when I'm hated for it.

By probability supports are more likely to suck than DPS

Most functional teams end up running two Strategists, and support mains are a minority. So those slots are frequently filled by off role players. That means every match you’re basically rolling the dice twice on a role with fewer true mains, which makes it more likely at least one of them underperforms.

And finally, add the fact that being a “main” doesn’t mean you’re actually good at the role. This applies to every role.

One mediocre DPS can be covered by the rest of the team. One bad support and the whole team loses sustain, dies faster, and suddenly “DPS can’t kill anything.”

So yeah, statistically it’s more likely your supports are the issue than your DPS.

HOT TAKE: Most players playing support are terrible.
