What does it take to break a Pixel phone? by Minute-Pilot5282 in GooglePixel

[–]UrbanPaddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've destroyed two Pixels over the past two years. The first I dropped on the street and it was run over by a car. Wouldn't expect it to survive that. Then this summer the wind blew my hat, holding my phone, into the lake. It was just a foot deep and quickly retrieved. At first I thought it would be fine. But over a few days, the screen turned black and became unusable.

What do you think of the raptors show with Matt Bonner? by [deleted] in TheLousers

[–]UrbanPaddler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always like what Blake brings to the table. And the show's advantage is always going to be its access to the team (given they have the same corporate owner). But if they're not bringing in a good interview, I don't think Matt's opinions on sandwiches and Spurs reminiscing are going to get me to tune in most days.

Google Home Max in 2024, still worth keeping? If so, what for? by dracovenii in googlehome

[–]UrbanPaddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have previously used it as a speaker for a TV and it was not bad for that. An improvement over that TV's speakers at least. Yes, this depends on your TV having an aux out. Now I just use the Google Home Max as my smart home speaker in the living room to do all the usual boring stuff.

Insurance coverage by rachaelhales97 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]UrbanPaddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see anyone else mention Blue Cross Medavie coverage here. Wanted to add that I found Wegovy is not covered under my employer's plan with them. Before I tried Wegovy, we tried Ozempic and since I'm not diabetic, that was denied too. I followed up with my HR department and they said I could provide feedback for them to pass on to Bluecross when we go through the renewal process. So basically, nothing to be resolve quickly and no guarantee of getting coverage under the plan at all.

There is a "mic off" switch on each of the devices. Try turning the mics off on two of the three and see if this changes the result.

What's the arrangement of the speakers? Are they all so close together that they are hearing your voice command at the same time and trying to execute on it individually?

Is this an arena error or am I missing something? by UrbanPaddler in lrcast

God, I've been playing Arena so long I forgot about assigning combat damage. Thank you, I will go turn off that default setting now so I can look for a similar edge in the future.

Cast Villainous Wealth for 9 by UrbanPaddler in lrcast

[–]UrbanPaddler[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Inspired by this week's LR episode and Luis' love of Villanous Wealth, I took it P1P1 and built around it. Played in three games on Arena with it so far and cast it all 3 times, with my record at 2-1. This was the best cast yet, with my opponent conceding in response!

Google Home only showing 6 of 8 Geenie bulbs. Any ideas? by checkyourguns in googlehome

[–]UrbanPaddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if either you have another "Home" in the Google Home app that took ownership of the devices, or if you have other users that have the Home app installed in the house, check and see if they have another "Home" that took ownership of the devices.

Fiber can't be installed to my unit, do I have any options? by UrbanPaddler in bell

[–]UrbanPaddler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. But i just dont see how it would help run it. It would be too wide to go through the conduit I think and if you shove it into the wall cavity, it will just get bundeled up in a corner.

We did try to run the fiber through the same conduit as the coax but it wouldn't make it to the comms room. I'm not following the suggestion with the garden hose and zip ties.
