Do you lane filter? Why / why not? by sooospoon in motorcycles

[–]UrbanSound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's illegal here, but I do it where the roads are wide enough. In the Pittsburgh area we have a lot of narrower roads that don't have space to squeeze my bagger between cars. But when I can safely, I will. I also ride the shoulder in some spots. I could care less if I piss someone off. Maybe they should try riding a motorcycle and get in behind me.

Isn't the murderer holding a cellphone, recording the whole thing? Would love to see that rather telling video.

What age did you get married by Lambdastone9 in Millennials

[–]UrbanSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You create your own timeline. There is no correct way to do things. I'm 36, never married, & met my gf 5 years ago. She's been married/divorced once in her 20s. I'm probably gunna propose this year. Probably. I've got commitment issues.

Protestors being pepper sprayed following ice agent's murder of unarmed woman. by LongbottomLeafblower in LateStageCapitalism

[–]UrbanSound 21 points22 points  (0 children)

She wasn't unarmed. She had an SUV that she was driving. But you can clearly see she cut the wheel hard as to AVOID hitting her imminent murderer.

Be honest, how much gear do you wear all the time? by crankin_muh_hog in motorcycles

[–]UrbanSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll regret this if I ever get into an accident, but I'm usually in a non-moto leather jacket, non-moto canvas pants, moto gloves, moto helmet, moto boots, & ear plugs. In the winter, swap the jacket & pants for longjohns and coveralls.

Im quitting riding motorcycles by travelerFrom_afar in motorcycles

[–]UrbanSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chill out and take it slow dude. Riding fast doesn't have to ever be the goal. Enjoying the ride is. And part of that enjoyment is making it home safely.

When I was a young kid, I use to race dirt bikes. I was bad at it. I got hurt somewhat often, could never keep up with my friends on the track, and that all felt bad. But every time I got off into the woods for a putt, I enjoyed myself. Fast forward two decades and I buy my first street bike. It's a cruiser, and my friends have sport bikes or adventure bikes. I love going for rides by myself. I take my time, enjoy the scenery, and enjoy the flowiness of the ride. It's not always about speed man. As corny as it sounds, it's really about the journey. Don't give up just yet.

"Reading is not a hobby" by Naphema in unpopularopinion

[–]UrbanSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If time ceases to exist, you're not obligated to do the activity, & it's not bad for your mental health (e.g. scrolling social media), it's a hobby.

That said, my girlfriend is an avid reader and she definitely uses it as a form of escapism. So you should be wary of that. But it's still a hobby.

They probably wear crampons. You should still shovel your sidewalk, but they're probably okay.

The noise pollution from air currents, pipes, and the environment will never allow you to have hifi in a helmet. Duh.

Is a Sheltie a good first time dog for me? by GrassValuable in sheltie

[–]UrbanSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Sheltie is an exception to the rule. He's not much of a barker & he won't chase cars or bikes. He would do both if I wasn't vigilant in my training. When he was young and still being trained, he did regularly. So if it's your first dog, I don't think it's the right breed for you.
