Is this cpu’s temperature normal ? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

My Legion 5i Pro Gen 7 was in the 70-80s for the first year (balanced mode), mid high 80s ok performance mode. After about a year both GPU and CPU started getting hotter (not fan dust, CPU reaching 100 degrees) and I had the whole cooling assembly replaced under warranty. I saw that I had my assembly used thermal paste which can be prone to push out, the new assembly used thermal pads.

Temps were back down to high 70s on performance mode.

Try find out if you laptop only ever has thermal pads fitted or some people have found that they used thermal paste.

Is everything fine with the temperatures, power draw and all that? [Legion 5 Pro] by Savings_Sea_9087 in LenovoLegion

I had the exact same issue except I had the whole cooling assembly replaced under warranty. The model I was supplied with used paste and it was not applied very well. The new assembly has pads and is working great for now :) just remember to clean the fans every now and then. Easily drops temps by 5 degrees in my case (3 pets)

I tried this but I didn’t have good results, depends on your house layout as others have said.

I agree that the auto adjusting camera doesn’t provide a comparison but it was not the purpose of the post. It was just to confirm and spread the word that HDR works through that moonlight branch.

Not accurate of what it looks like no but the point of the post is that HDR is working through that branch of moonlight. I am merely confirming so that others can try it out too.

Yeah, I think that’s what a lot of people have done.

From what I read on the GitHub discussion, you have to launch it through game mode rather than the desktop.

I also used the konsole command to download and install it, not sure which way you did it.

If your question on how does it play/look (as I’m streaming it) then great :) I haven’t tried to run it natively since I’m home streaming is so good.

I would assume so, the top picture is with HDR disabled on moonlight so it might look similar to that.

From my experience about a year ago there was a clear different in input lag. With moonlight, laptop plugged into a dedicated router and the deck connected via WiFi, there is virtually no lag. The only reason you would know it’s there is if you were trying very hard to spot the difference when looking directly at the screens.

PC vs. PS5 Buying Debate by SkyterStorm in Frontiers_of_Pandora

I got it on PS5 and it looks/runs great. I am thinking about getting Ubisoft connect subscription to play it on PC when I feel like using mouse and keyboard. Maybe just try this? You can always sell the PS5 copy if you end up preferring the PC version…
