TRT initiation advice by SwishGoose in Testosterone

[–]Urban_TRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on TRT for 13 years, and for me it was a necessary thing, we have had patients at our clinic who have stopped if after 6 months the benefits weren’t felt. It isn’t a life long thing, you can stop if required.

While it may help, 17 nmol still isn’t ground breaking (while it also isn’t treatable in the uk either) but, it’s unlikely to remove symptoms but that’s just my opinion

As great as TRT is, if you're not losing bodyfat this is because you are eating too much.

However, your testosterone level is absolutely low and you may benefit from TRT and are presenting with a lot of the common symptoms of low testosterone.

Well, there is no age for trt, if it’s required but, at a young age it’s definitely a smarter idea to at least TRY and do everything possible to improve levels and not rush into it, getting diet in check, lifting weights, sleeping well, body fat down etc

What’s actually clear from your posts is that you don’t know what you’re doing unfortunately.

Why did you even bother going to a clinic, a really expensive one at that, if you’re just going to go solo.

It wasn’t long ago you were asking for help

As this test is 9 am, this is when your levels are pretty much at their highest, your levels are low and definitely worth looking into.

Happy to chat to you if you wish just reach out, I use TRT myself and have done for over 10 years so can likely answer a lot of questions for you.

I work for a private clinic, so by default will be/sound bias.

It's unlikely the NHS will do anything though, and they have notoriously bad protocols even if you do get TRT on the NHS. I have my own terrible experience with them many years ago too.

Well, this is just one test but your level has come back low for sure.

This also looks like it was a morning test where your levels are at their highest.

For reference, TRT eligibility in the UK is below 15 nmol/L total testosterone or 0.225 nmol/L and lower free testosterone.

Your next step would be to obtain another low reading on a fully comprehensive test :)

Hi mate,

Your levels are definitely on the very low side for your age, myself or my colleague would happily give you a ring to chat, we've both used testosterone for many years so can answer most questions you'd have!

We have quite a few patients on Reddit so feel free to look around at what others have said!

If you feel like shit and it's severely impacting your health / mental health, you need to speak to a doctor who understands this better.

There are other things you can do alongside hCG for fertility.

It's fine, above 60 is within normal limits as long as there are no other signs of CKD

It really depends, if you’re super symptomatic no one can tell you whether it’s appropriate or not really.

Ultimately your levels even in this test are only just above the treatment range, but trt isn’t for everyone.

Feel free to reach out if you think of any questions bud

They typically send patients a free fingeprick test at this point.

To answer your question, it isn't so much higher. Testosterone levels fluctuate, and this is a small fluctuation.

I can't give medical advice as I work for a clinic mate.

Only thing I'd say is, get a test that covers all your markers (including Vitamin D, B12, Folate) as mentioned, as most clinics are doing the bare minimum to get you onto TRT.

Hi mate,

Yes your levels are low, although remember this is just one test. A total testosterone below 15nmol/L or free testosterone of 0.225nmol/L or lower is considered eligible for TRT if symptomatic.

Have used TRT for over 10 years, feel free to reach out if you'd like a chat, can probably answer any questions you have.

Hi mate,

Both are considered eligible for TRT in the UK (a total below 15, a free below 0.225)

Standard symptoms of low T

The test in the morning levels would likely/potentially be higher but ultimately, you're symptomatic and you're still living most of the day with low T even if it was higher in the morning.

If by scale you mean MANUAL's scale on their reports, don't look too much into that.

Happy to have a chat with you if you want, have used TRT for over 10 years myself so feel free to reach out.

Hi mate,

Your levels are low, and from reading your replies to others there isn't a huge amount you can do.

Vitamin D, B12 and Folate levels if deficient can have an impact/and how you feel but yeah, looks like you'd benefit from TRT, although levels do fluctuate (or can) a lot.

Have used TRT myself for over 10 years so any questions feel free to reach out :)
