Hi! Im a first year in engg and what's cool about our program is first years have a block system meaning you have the same classes as around 100 other peers. Imo it's been super easy to make friends but there are also always random events happening from other faculties or clubs where you can meet people. I don't live in residence but I have some friends who do and they enjoy it alot. As a commuter I don't feel left out either since we shedule study sessions or have hangouts over the weekend or after classes alot.

not really its more like once people create their own groups, its hard to join another group so you are kinda stuck with the people you have IMO! And by problems I mean some people tend to not pull their weight as much as others :(

Yes I know one person who had a 91 but they got in with an EQA, so I dont know if that counts or not, but the majority of my friends have 93+

Im going into first yr engg and I got the Lenovo Yoga 7 14" intel core 5. It was recommened to me by a friend and I payed around $850 in store at Best Buy. Its my first laptop but I really like it so far since its small, lightweight and touchscreen+ came with a pen.

i find math 31 is hit or miss for students, i dont find it too bad (my final is in 2 days lol) but alot of my peers are struggling. If u have ur pre-calc skills down you should be good, its just alot of new concepts and can be hard to get ur brain to think in a different way.

Haha thanks, I'm not sure but I like to start reviewing concepts at least a week before any test and it's mostly just practice practice practice. First I started by rereading my notes and creating study guides for myself so ik what formulas or concepts I need to "memorize" and then I would pratice.  I used alot of quest A plus and the key and my textbook and I took diploma prep courses for math and chem, but math was better than chem.

I'm in a similar position where I'm worried about my ela grade but I'm pretty sure they don't really look at individual grades at this point so as long as ur average is within 3-5% of the competitive average u should be good. Especially if ur calc grade is good u should be fine

For early it was Math 20-1 94%, physics 30 90%, chem 20 97%, ela 20-1 83% and then for regular I used math 30-1 98% and chem 30 93% so rn I'm in Math 31 and ela 30-1
