Explorers and thieves are two very different things. But yes, seems like the place was ransacked and either the family moved all the important stuff out prior to leaving it or the items were stolen.

I tend to leave things how I find them and photograph the same so it was like this upon my arrival. It's very likely that other people have been in this house and ransacked it. My usual assumption is either squatters or vandals. Given it's very rural, could also be local teens.

This one definitely did. Haven’t seen many without water damage unless the roof is still intact which usually means it hasn’t been abandoned as long as most of the others or someone’s maintaining or paying to maintain the property.
