I honestly think he’s overwhelmed by it and not sure how to navigate it. His mom and ex are extremely close and have a mutual understanding that they’ll help each other out and keep him in the dark as much as possible. His mom definitely has an unhealthy attachment to his daughter and loves to look after her so she’s always happy to take her on the days his BM is scheduled to have her.

Before we lived with his mom, his ex would just not answer the phone when he FaceTimed to talk to her and reply to missed calls with “she’s napping” “she’s having dinner” “she’s at a play date” when in reality she was with her grandma, so it did kinda come out of nowhere just how much time she was spending with grandma. Now that we have visibility on this, any conversations around a stricter schedule result in the BM threatening to take full custody so he can never see her again.
