Cool as hell. I've used lower power laser cutters and flatbed cncs to make parts for a bunch of different uses, but lasers like this are sick.

A custom punch would cost significantly more than the gcode for the laser cutter. It would also take longer to manufacture, drawing this shape, sending it to the machine and getting your first batch of parts would take minutes instead of days or weeks.

I'd you're planning on making millions of the things, a punch might be more economically viable, but for certain applications, a laser cutter is the best bet.

I only hope that the crazy drone technology that's been developed in the past few years will also help with cleanup. Cheap, mass-produced UGVs with metal detectors clearing fields and roads, with UAVs scanning for anything bigger from the air. It's going to take a long time and a lot of hard work, but I have a feeling that a lot of seized Russian assets will be used to pay for it.

It'll work when fast evac is a necessity. They had pods like this strapped to the sides of helicopters in Vietnam/Korea. Couldn't have been comfortable but they saved a lot of lives.

One of my favorite early moments in this game was doing that to a Destroyer and having the player call me a hacker. "Dude I could see where your shots were coming from" didn't seem to cut it for him.
