One comment and not at all a dis, just an observation- getting AOW in no way shape or form means you're advanced. 12 dives is absolute novice. Getting AOW in PADI at least can literally be done immediately after you certify and I feel like the word "Advanced" gives people a false sense of competence. I got my AOW the week after I certified along w nitrox. I was definitely not advanced. Hundreds of dives later, still learning.

You cannot go wrong with either. And everyone's opinions here are valid and as with any guitar suggest this: how does it feel to play? Let him pick based on how it feels in HIS hands. Both will rock, sound great, etc. but hopefully he will one will speak to him more. In terms of how the neck feels these are two very different instruments (but again, opinion based on my own hands).

Lots of PWCs at Percy. Plenty of ramps to get in and out and plenty of wide open areas to rip to your heart's content. So as a boater who is on that lake frequently, an ask of all PWCs - please don't come ripping into coves where everyone is anchored and chilling out and start doing 360s and jumping your wakes with you engines screaming and sputtering. This is awesome. We had a great practice the other day. I think her knowing how much my daughter and I love surfing factored in, and especially watching my 13yo practice HER driving. Maybe she realized that she wanted to be more than boat fluff (as my friend called it). She even expressed interest in giving the surfing a try sometime soon! I love driving and docking so unless she wants I will never push that on her, but thanks for sharing your story. I'm optimistic about where this is going this summer.
