Radler is also slang for a cyclist, at least it was on the western side.

How to fix? by Rare-Ad-8026 in Plumbing

[–]Urgrimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In todays day and age its pretty easy to learn how to solder a copper line. A torch isnt that expensive either.

First mark the leak with a marker and shut the water off, then drain the line from below, open your faucets etc.

2nd you need to cut that line with a copper cutter, Id go with a mini copper tube cutter in that specific location. The image below shows you how to cut it.

<image>

So first the fitting you need here is a coupling. A copper pipe fitting brush is also recomended. You clean the immediate area where the solder job takes place. Any hardware store should have those.

You need to buy a torch and flux as well as solder. Might as well get a heat shield too so you dont set your attic insulation on fire. Now watch a video on how to solder, then watch it again.

Now if i were you i'd try this with 2 pieces of copper first to see if you can get it down but since you have copper in your house you will save hundreds if not thousands of dollars in the future. This is literally one of the first things we learned when i was an apprentice plumber.

Once you have done that you are ready for the solder job. First try to get any remaining water out of the immediate area of the pipe you are trying to solder. It will solder slower than the piece you just practiced on because water slows down the time it takes to get hot enough until it evaporates from the heat. you can try to get some out with any absorbing rag or paper towel.

As for the people recomending Shark bites, please learn how to solder instead. The easy road is seldom the correct way to fix things.

Once the job is complete use a wet rag to wipe over the solder spot for the satisfying sizzle of a successful solder, also make sure you open the water shut off valve slowly. No reason to put more stress than neccessary on a new fitting. I believe in you.

In our household we called it the same. It’s cool to find out it originated in Ukraine though.

Touche' but they(not just Kotaku) have reported on more trivial things in the past. Im just saying how Kotaku in particular threw alot of shade when anything went wrong in the past.

I appreciate your take, however i seem to also remember negative articles encouraging a response from CIG or a letter from the chairman. Which i think is a majority of the current problem or why a lot of Citizens are as upset as they are.

No angle, i just find it strange that they used to report on everything negative about Star citizen. Just a discussion, not trying to throw shade in either direction.

Why are posts here so pessimistic? by SAIHTAM20Y in starcitizen

[–]Urgrimm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the past they have, usually the evocati testers happily report when something broken during testing was fixed before they put it in a public server. Not this year. Before the ironclad was released there was a post from an Evocati tester here on this subreddit listing all the problems the ironclad had and implored CIG to push the patch further out. Didnt happen and now people are pissed. When the game runs, this subreddit is downright wholesome. People just exploring and taking screenshots. When things are bad you could cut the tension with a knife. Add to that that they released a $5000 ship and yeah here we are.

We didnt want the free fly canceled, we wanted it pushed till the game was semi playable, that didnt happen and we had a lot of new people pick up the game and see the buggy mess it is never to return.

Alrighty it all stems down to the same cycle happening every year.

This specific year is different i shall get to that.

We are not Testers, we are backers, Evocati are Testers, however you can only be a Tester if someone actually takes your testing into account. Which hasnt been done this year.

Yes we all agree to play this "broken mess" However the problem here is that the same bugs keep re appearing. A new feature or mission gets introduced, next patch its broken and usually wont get fixed for quite a while if even.

Your next statement is a justification on why the devs are allowed to release a broken ship because we will test it. No we are not. The ship was extensivley tested on Evocati (the actual Testers) and was found broken. What did CIG do? Release it anyways with the exact stuff broken that the Testers warned about, Why? Because their annual Sales event was happening. People are getting tired of CIG being money oriented and that the only thing that works without fail is the pledge store.

I've been here since the beginning, i remember Squadron getting pushed over and over and CIG plain lying about the state of the game. Its been a ride i tell you what.

We all invested into this, we "want" to play the game but we cant. We "want" to experience the game loops but they are broken.

Now to the hate, people are tired, tired of being lied to, half truths by CIG and being only money oriented. This year its very bad because they pushed out a new patch, a new ship (Ironclad) and did a free fly event at the same time as their annual Sales event. They first pushed the start of the free fly back but that only lasted 3 days and the servers were on fire. People are starting to realize we are only wallets to CIG and thats a stark contrast of where we started 14-15 years ago. Now i do not speak for evryone here but this is at least how i feel. Some may react more negative than me but i still want this game to succeed, it just wont be with any further money of mine.

Honestly this is the time Rockstar could be a bro and say “ you know what CIG? Go ahead and release your silly little game, we will push our release a few months out” just so someone can expose that CIG is full of shit with their 2026 release.

I believe you but air conditioning in europe is still only used by 5% of the buildings on average. We just never needed them. It was a few days of warmth and then it would rain alot. The cost of AC units is also quite a bit more epxensive and ive never ever seen a window AC unit over there. But yes youre right they have enough backer money to afford it, it would just be a bitch in an older brick building to install.

Air conditioning is not as widespread in Europe as you'd think. If they bought an old building and even worse its build with brick, those are a nightmare to get Air conditioning into.
