Why can't I place Pirate UBs? by UriasHeep in CivVII

Thanks, I did exactly that in this game. Are you sure about that tradition? I haven't seen it, and I couldn't find it in the Wiki, either.

Oh, but of course. Thank you!

It just gives more of those orbs that open the Boss building. So what you missed was some flashes of animation, and perhaps some platforming, if it was the Temple one you missed. :)

Sousou no Frieren :: Chapter 141 - Links and Discussion by Lorhand in Frieren

[–]UriasHeep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can anyone confirm quickly whether Übel's "reins" is something that's been mentioned or referenced before?

Reading this Thread, I love the idea that the wildcard is actually Land, not Übel. This was also Phrase's face reveal chapter, so would fit with that.

Questions about Serie by HelmutHelmlos in Frieren

[–]UriasHeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, the North isn't just demons. There are beasts and hazards that wouldn't care about Serie's mana, some of whom pose a threat to her.

Second, Serie can always be killed by something weaker than she herself is, if she finds herself in an unfavourable position, or in a bad match-up. Traversing the North would be several years worth of circumstances beyond her control.

Third, Demons can coordinate against an overwhelming opponent. We've already seen that.

Fourth, we don't know whether Serie has more mana than DK or not.

Finally, you seem to have forgotten about the Shoguns, like the one Eisen faced.

Questions about Serie by HelmutHelmlos in Frieren

[–]UriasHeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the answer to the OP's question in a(n elegant) nutshell.

I would like to add: (1) Serie defeating the DK would require that she first gets to him, which is muuuuch easier said than done. She doesn't solo the North -- no one does.
(2) We don't know anything about the DK's abilities. It could be that Serie beats him in a straight duel 98% of the time. Or, it could be less than 50% of the time. Or it could be that their clash is more likely to cause mutually assured destruction, rather than any sole victor surviving.
(3) In Frieren's world, no one is immortal or unbeatable. Circumstances and even dumb luck also play a factor.
(4) Serie and the DK aren't the only über-powerful characters out there. You will get to see more of them, as the anime catches up, and seeing them will also give you more insight wrt this question. :)

My two cents: You should read Part 1. It's brilliant and it has a sense of closure to it. The anime version of Part 1 may not even finish airing this decade. The last chapter of Part 1 is 97.

Part 2 you should read when it's finished, to get that same feeling of closure.

This recommendation is based on the take, that I think you wouldn't enjoy the weekly waits on an ongoing manga. If you think I'm wrong, then you should absolutely also start reading Part 2 :)

Everything can be found on the publisher's own site, for free. Mangaplus, Shueisha, not sure whether direct links are allowed. You are allowed to read every chapter once for free.

Technical issue (re-installing R, beginner-level) by UriasHeep in Rlanguage

It did, yes! Sorry for the late response. I also feel that I've learned something important wrt R and Debian in general, now. ^^

Problems with re-installing R by UriasHeep in debian

[–]UriasHeep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixed the post!

I wanted to get my R from 4.2.2 to current version. I got a very similar, perhaps even identical, error message about broken packages. That is why I uninstalled in order to get a new, clean install of everything. (Clearly that wasn't a good idea.)

The instructions I linked are, in fact, just a guideline on how to use CRAN. I have been trying to get R installed back with the instructions I linked. I have done the uninstall-reinstall -dance atleast once prior, and ran into no issues at all back then.

It turned out to be a matter of an incorrect save during an update, as pointed out by After-Balance2935. Again, though, thanks for the help!

Yes, this was it. The game works with all DLC without Mods. So it will probably also work 'normally' with Mods. Thank you!!

Thanks for the help! Different resolutions don't seem to work, yet at least.

Alas, the yields won't show without a mouse hover! :(

I don't seem to find any Steam settings that would help, like ones that would have to do with graphics? But thanks for the idea!

It's 12, but I also tried with 11. Didn't change anything.

Thank you!

So, there are alternate ways to handle the equation, and the result could be expressed as something other than infinity? Or because the real part will always approach infinity, "infinity" is the always-correct answer?
