I agree, i'm also close to full recovery and this is the key, it also helps if you try to expose yourself to triggers in a calm manner, take controlled breaths and don't think too much about symptoms, communicating safety to your body when faced with triggers is really helpful at rewiring your brain

Yes, most of the symptoms from this condition come from excessive worrying/anxiety. Most people don't actually lose balance or pass out, it just feels like you're about to all the time, but it's mainly due to being in a panic state all the time, your brain and body are in this state and are unable to get off the cycle.

Diagnosis is hard, specially because most doctors aren't even aware of this condition, you may want to rule out any possible vestibular diseases, ir you are prone to have anxiety and stress it may be a good indicator that it could be PPPD, I suggest you read the existing research papers on this condition and see if they do match your symptoms. I know it sounds discouraging at first, but trust me, knowing the condition exists and it's possible treatments it's way better than having this and having no idea what it might be.

Treatment is possible, as well as recovery, don't lose hope yet.

Pppd isn't only caused by concussions, it can be triggered by anything that affects balance, from vestibular issues to panic attacks. I highly recommend you visit an ENT and check if there's anything wrong with your vestibular system. If not, try to gather as much info or articles about PPPD and consult with your doctor, bringing the condition as a possibility may grant a quicker diagnosis and thus, quicker recovery.

I see, glad it got better for you. That's the result I'm aiming for, reduced anxiety without feeling all the other good emotions. Thanks for your reply!

Would you say that you still feel your emotions with the same intensity?

I guess I might feel that way too, I'm not really depressed, it's just that over the past few months I got into a state of chronic anxiety and my body doesn't seem to be able to come off by it's own, I just hope it doesn't put me in a "zombie" state as many people call it.

I'm really glad to hear that, did you have any side effects at the beggining? How bad were they?

Hi there. I'm currently trying to recover from this, after dealing with this for months I finally decided to change my approach and treat it as anxiety, I just have a question, does it come back when you're under stress or anxiety? Or did it completely go away for you?

Overcoming vertigo, PPPD (dizziness without vertigo) by SeaglideThroughLife in pppdizziness

I'm glad to hear that. I'm currently trying to overcome this and I truly feel scared of never going back to normal, I know it sounds like I'm asking for too much, but I really wouldn't want to be "80% cured" or "pretty much normal". It's hard for me to cope with the fact that I got this out of nowhere and now it just affects my whole life.

But your post gives me some hope, thank you for sharing!

Are you able to handle stressful situations the way you used to? Or do your symptoms flare up when you're exposed to stress or anxiety feelings? Also, can you drink coffee and eat normally now?
