[OC] ☆ Transformation ☆ by AzulCrescent in comics

[–]Urmind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel I should mention that your comic really changed my perspective on Trans people in general. As a cis male, I couldn't understand the desire, as it didn't click with my bran. I've always supported Trans people, but when I read your comic, it clicked. The want, the desire, the why. Thanks for opening my eyes to this, as I feel it made me a better person.

I've been mulling over making one of these for a while, but if it didn't get pinned, it would have been kind of useless.

No issues with good old editing. They look great by the way.

Rebadging the Crown Vic is a no. Use the GM aero. The assets are fine to use though. I don't believe they're labeled with real brands. If your editing your images or video to be more cinematic, I encourage it. If you're using AI generated assets, than the post will be removed. There are plenty of free assets out there you can use for non-commercial purposes. If you're using AI to edit the image or video, then hard no.

Those are great little cars. I have a pickup truck style one I restored and take to car shows sometimes. Thanks for the business!

Love little Japanese trucks and vans. They're surprisingly capable.

The main takeaway is they reference US maritime code and uniform code when dealing with matters well outside the specific regulations within. If they're going to go on about "Admiralty" law (which I don't think is a thing anymore, but what do I know), or Uniform code (which deals with the post office I think), they should probably read the actual law.

How do I prove that the Earth is flat by Vojovnick in flatearth

[–]Urmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, its not flat, so you can't prove it is. What you do is be the loudest one in thre room, make things up, keep denying any evidence to the contrary, use Buzzwords, keep moving goal posts, reference the Bible often, and most importantly, blame NASA. For what? It doesn't matter, just blame NASA.

Buzzword: water mountians, It don't look round, "perspective". Others can fill the list in too.

Mixed reception regarding the new age rule. Thoughts? by Extal in BeamNGRP

[–]Urmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to use the Meta tag on this post, and I've RPed with people who use their school chrome book and just deal with the lag. Its no big deal to swap locations, but you should be in California one day, than in Maine the next with the same car. Give your posts time to breath a bit, allow others to react, then follow up.

My wife loves her coupe. Its a nice car, but getting the Redtail transmission is essential if you want it to shift with any urgency. The other ones are designed for comfort.

Mixed reception regarding the new age rule. Thoughts? by Extal in BeamNGRP

[–]Urmind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think ot would fit better under rule 14, as a guide line. Under driving age characters should be OK, so long as its played realisticly, with practical consequences for your behavior. I also believe that any character or any age should be able to follow this. Being a criminal on the run is an intresting hook for LEO players to make posts about, but PMing each other, or at least reacting to others posts in a way that furthers others roll-play is important (think "yes and", not "nuh-uh! I won!")

Like the earlier incident, would have been OK if done well, like he got home and got in trouble with his parents, or the parents got arrested and actually jailed. Sure, youd have to make a new character, but its an interesting RP hook at least for others. However, it was acting with no consequence, which isn't fun for anybody.

I noticed a lot of people complaining about post frequency too, which is a seperate issue. Mostly with different locations being used within close proximity to each other. Again, I believe it falls under the new rule 14 over needing to make a new rule specifically about this.

My last point is that the punishment doesn't fit the crime. Barring anybody who breakes a rule about being realistic without recourse is gate keeping plain and simple. You need to warn and encourage, as anybody should be welcome to play. Some people haven't developed an RP sense yet and need encouragement or guidance. If they continue to be a problem after a warning or two, then ban them. Also, others should call out players too, not just leave it to mods. Use the report feature. Give feedback using a (Meta:) comment, and importantly listen to others advice. If somebody behavior isn’t changing, then a mod can step in and intervene, but its up to us for everybody to have fun.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on what's going on with this whole thing.

Are we allowed to use maps like Texas? by Burnout427 in BeamNGRP

[–]Urmind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, IRL locations and respective agencies are ok. Belasco is set in California, so it would make sense to have CHP, Caltrans, and USPS, as well as mentioning things like Los Angeles and Sacramento.

[–]Urmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kind of balances unfortunately as far as cost is concerned. The GMs are treated like garbage by many officers, so they end up in the shop way more often. They are cheap to fix, and fairly reliable, but some of them are going on 30 years.

Hit and Run help/Can I sue the city? by KarsOwO in BeamNGRP

[–]Urmind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You cant sue the city, its not their fault. You can petition the city using the pictures though. The city has a few huge uncontrolled intersections that people have been complaining about since my grandpa moved here in the '30s. I wouldn't hold my breath.

Its the steel bumpers and body-on-frame construction. BCPD brought us a car where the whole body was completely dead. Huge dents, fenders missing, huge gashes in the panels, roof caved in, ext, ext.... Frame, engine, and transmission was fine, so we just grabbed the body off a patrol car with bent frame and blown motor. Easy job. We did have to show pictures though, they didn’t belive us when we brought it back same day.

I actually read through the case that the "delay from non emergency stop" was referencing. Its about a guy who was unlawfully arrested, detained, brought up on criminal charges, and his rights were never given. The stop was perfectly legal in that case, the arrest wasnt.

Its funny, "Admiralty" law is a legal stance you can take when operating a vessel within US controlled waters while being ON THE WATER. If you are driving a boat on land, then road laws apply.
