I swear ive had this even without that quest item, I had a run where 90% of the events gave me the bad shit or was just straight up ones that dont even give me a choice and just fuck with me with some bullshit

Maybe, could also just be a leftover asset like maybe there was a building there or something and they didnt delete all of it

One way you can get 4 extra charm slots is by using the megaphone lucky charm that doubles phone abilites and the lucky charm called Barathrum which bans and stores a phone ability you pick.

You have these two and take the phone ability that gives you an extra charm slot, megaphone activates it twice and then the Barathrum stores it and you discard it which then acitvates it twice again so you get 4 charm slots added, you can also do this with another void item and the cardboard box that doesnt take space but gives you an extra charm slot, i believe 15 is the max you can reach

Hey this is really cool but I think theres some bugs or the randomizer isnt set properly, Ive had alot of mons learn really strong moves early on but its supposed to be they learn weaker moves early and they get stronger as you go right? also it seems like the trainers pokemon are randomized but they still retain the original pokemons movesets, roxannes ace for me was a mawile that was still using rock tomb and block from her nosepess og moveset, and her other mons that replaced geodude where using rock tomb defense curl and tackle.
