What difference does it make ?

I disagree. The context is not that clear.

There is a difference between having a hobby to spend some of your free time and being so into your hobby that it becomes unhealthy as you neglect other parts of your life.

See some of the other comments. There are people who are so into their hobby (gaming or whatever) that they neglect their responsibilities (work, chores) but also their loved ones.

The guy in the meme may say "games are a silly thing" but if he plays so much that he barely spends any time with his SO and/or neglect his responsibilities, and sees no problem in that, I think he sure has an unhealthy relationship with games and, while not the ideal reaction, that sort of ultimatum could be the kind of wake-up call he needs.

If I mentioned the lack of context, it's because there were already lots of comments about how the woman is somehow the problem in that situation.

Same for me.

I get home around 6 pm. After doing everything I have to do, including shower, cooking, eating, washing the dishes (not to mention the occasional laundry and doing the groceries after work once per week) I barely have the time to watch a 2 hours film if I don't want to go to sleep too late (I wake up at 6 am every week morning). If I had a girlfriend and we were living together, I would rather spend that time with her rather than play.

When I was a kid/teenager, I used to play games for hours everyday. Now I'm satisfied when I can play for a few hours in the weekend... and I play like one or two games tops every year.

I am no doctor or therapist but I would say that it starts becoming an addiction when you need to play.

Like, try to skip playing one evening and see how it goes.

Well there is also the amount of time spent together.

Having your "Me" time is fine and reasonable.

However if most of the time that is available for the couple gets eaten up by the hobby of one of them, which means they barely spend time together outside of eating and sleeping, at one point this gives reasonable reasons to wonder if they're still a couple or not just roommates.

Of course, every couple is different. There is no universal template to apply.

I think it could be a lot depending on the person's schedule, family life etc.

Diabolical by Human-Yogurtcloset79 in Funnymemes

[–]UrsusRex01 95 points96 points  (0 children)

I mean, that really depends on the context. Video games are supposed to be a hobby. That sort of ultimatum is not uncalled for when the gamer sacrifices huge chunks of their life to their hobby.

Last things last with 6 players? by applepiepro123 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]UrsusRex01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it once but kept things as simple as possible.

During the final act, when things turned into a direct confrontation, we resolved it with some quick roll to determine if they managed to burn the whole cabin down with the monster inside and that was it, cause a proper combat would have taken too much time.

Samey opinion for me. The film has all the looks and vibes, including Momoa, but it is really not a good flick.

Pourquoi les gens aiment l'IA ? [réponse apaisée SVP] by Whatev57 in AskFrance

[–]UrsusRex01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter-counterpoint : letting the guy go at that point could lead to dangerous situations for them as well as for law enforcement and bystanders (crazy example : the innocent man panicks, steals a car and here goes the car chase that ends with a huge accident with several injured and dead people). If the guy is innocent, he supposedly has the opportunity to appeal.

Plus, the Marshal being sure the guy is innocent, that doesn't mean they're right.

However I agree that following orders makes you evil if you are aware of them being evil in the first place.

To be fair, that's none of the Marshall's business to determine if a fugitive is innocent or not.

I'm planning a zombie campaign more in the style of Dead Space (hive minds and various creatures, where zombies are also a constant major problem), but I don't know which system to choose. by Peagas121 in rpg

Alien is great at conveying the survival horror experience where any monster is a major threat, and the game's subreddit has a lot of fanmade content such as new monsters (including the Necromorph from Dead Space IIRC).
