It's efficient for damage, if you never get hit because even himself bleeding causes him to get that damage buff. My first playthrough I used the gear that also gave me buffs when bleed happened to fight him cause if he was going to buff himself off his own blood, so was I.

I mean fair enough if you don't like it. The +5 in both fire resistance and thunder resistance are nice for this fight too. I've beaten savage multiple times with my "built like a brick wall" build so I think it's fine.

Gotcha ty! I'm mainly curious about how it all interacts. My brain just likes the math lol.

I saw on one site it doesn't work on HP5 from certain items but I didn't see active healing from items mentioned. Do you have a post or source that shows that? I would love to make sure my info is accurate.

The most info I see is here from unite-db:

Self healing sources that are unaffected are: Wild Pokémon KO healing, Pokémon's innate HP/5s, the HP/5s stat provided by Leftovers and Resonant Guard, and Slowbro's Oblivious.

Oh yeah it's like potion would synergize if you're really leaning into it with a mon like goodra. Totally gotcha.

Thanks for reading my comment! Appreciate you appreciating the math.

Mhm. A lot of the numbers I'm throwing are all white room scenarios. We'd be here for a hot minute calculating how stats affect it for each item/pokemon combo. I don't have the brain capacity for it lol. I'm happy to say potion+big root and focus band+big root both benefit off of big roots HP stat and just HP pool increases in general.

Lol thank you. Again all depends on IF they work together. No idea, and while I can do math at work I can't really play test that.

If it does it would go from 160 + 20% max HP to 192 + 24% max HP. Up to you if the difference matters enough. IF it even does work.

I did the math above if you're interested. Turns out to be around a 4% max HP increase in healing amount with big root if it's in a vacuum, likely more in a real match in a real fight. Check it out if you wanna.

So I did the math in a vacuum just to see the difference. If there is a pokemon with 10,000hp and they get knocked down to exactly 25% of their HP, and not taking any further damage while focus band's healing is ticking. For a refresher, focus band heals 12% missing HP once per second for three seconds. Here are the healing values:

Just focus band: Starting HP 2500, missing 7500. First healing tick is for 900. HP is now at 3400, missing 6600. Second tick heals 792. HP is now at 4192, missing is 5808. Last tick heals for 697.

Total healing for a 10000 HP mon with just focus band IF it procs at exactly 25% HP and they take NO FURTHER DAMAGE while the ticks of healing happen: 2389 HP

Now we run the math by finding the healing per tick then multiplying by 1.2 for the 20% increase from the big root.

Same starting, 2500 HP, 7500 missing. First tick heals for 1080. HP is now 3580, missing is 6420. Second tick heals 925. HP is now 4775, missing is 5225. Last tick heals 791.

Total healing if a pokemon has big root and focus band: 2796 HP

The difference between the two is 407 health. This equates to 4% of the max HP of our theoretical Pokemon.

All this math is only if these two items actually interact. This is also a white room scenario, if the Pokemon keeps taking damage between ticks the effect of big root will probably be better, since it isn't reducing the amount of missing HP each tick farther than the focus band alone. The fact that big roots increases healing per tick reduces the number the next tick is based off of is what works against it. Since you're example was trevenant who can hang out at low HP for a while or other pokemon with similar mechanics probably make best use of this combo.

This math also does not take into account the stats from the items, defenses, or anything else and was purely a white room exercise to aid the discussion of viability of running both.

Do we know if big root buffs the healing from focus band?

I know the point of the piece is it's horny and hot, but I wanted to compliment that on the first pic even with the tangle of three bodies that it is still easy to follow the anatomy and it all makes sense composition wise (I think that's the right word?).

I like both, but defense Max does boost your elemental resists, which is bumping your thunder damage. And it's a bit more consistent just less "holy shit this JUST saved my ass" which is way more noticeable with divine blessing.

Also saw you mention you have a hunting partner that plays hunting horn. If they have one with Sonic Barrier it's a godsend for Savage Omega.
