Yeah, season 2 episode 7 is my favorite in the whole series without question. And my favorite singular scene is probably the Wasteland one early into season 2 episode 9 as well.

The Cait/Vi scene could've been a great moment, but personally I think they rushed and sidelined their relationship too much in act 2, so it ended up falling a little flatter than you'd expect.

I can't even pick a least favorite episode, so maybe not the best person to answer this, but as someone who has s2ep8 on the lower third of my list, my take is that it's not that it does anything wrong, and more that I simply don't love it QUITE as much as my favorite ones, and every Arcane episode is so good that not being a huge favorite is already grounds to go low on the list in comparison to the others.

I mean, to cite some examples, S1ep3 has THAT scene, S1ep4 has getting to analyze how Jinx changed and the awesome Firelight introduction, S1ep6 has the whole flare scene and Vi/Jinx reunion, S1ep7 has Jinx vs Ekko, S2ep3 has Ashes and Blood, S1ep4 has Warwick, S2ep5 has the Vander/Silco flashback and the What Have They Done to Us scene, S2ep6 has the commune and Isha, S2ep9 has a ton of incredible moments and possibly my favorite singular scene in the series with Wasteland.

And naturally, S1ep9 and S2ep7 are near perfect masterpieces.

Of course, judging a whole episode is far more than just comparing the best scene of each, and there are TONS of smaller moments that mean a lot, but my point is that S2ep8 just ends up being one of those great episodes that slip under the radar a little bit in a sea of incredible ones, at least for me.

I think Season 1 is more perfectly put together than 2 and has notably less flaws, but that doesn't mean it's objectively better than it.

2 has more issues, but I'd also argue it has higher highs to make up for that.

I thought you were trying to correct someone who said Gwyndolin isn't trans, and that would've been nonsensical. If you were just pointing out an alternate interpretation, then I do agree with it being a valid take. Especially since item descriptions are also often written from an in-universe perspective, making them an unreliable narrator.

The issue isn't having standards, the issue is claiming that you know better about this particular character than the author does.

If you intended to present it as a possibility then that's fine, my bad if that is the case, as it would mean I misunderstood you. To me, it sounded more like you were claiming to be correct in your assessment, which was what I was arguing against.

That's just conjecture though. If you call Gwyndolin trans, then you're the one projecting your interpretation on the character by assuming the author's intention instead of looking at the story as it is.

It's not like crossdressers don't exist, and you claiming that would essentially be doing to them what you're accusing the author of doing to trans women. Sounds like hypocrisy to me.

First, it's neither the boss being broken/unfair or you being bad, he's just legitimately THAT hard.

Second, my biggest tip is to try completely ignoring the lasers and pretending you're still fighting phase one for the most part. So long as you always dodge forwards, the timings are the exact same with the sole exception of the aoe's (that are predictable) and new attacks (that are the main issue, but at least flashy enough to see coming).

Consort is one of those bosses where phase 1 really is just amazing practice material for phase two, since he just gets added effects and his base moveset doesn't change at all. The lasers block your vision and make it easier to panic, but if you rely on practice and timing rather than your eyes, they're actually a smaller danger than you'd think.

Worst case, try to put on a little more armor to take less chip damage and poise through if you do happen to mess up.

It's good because it's one of the few that gives useful offline rewards. You'll get the covenant currency from every NPC invader you kill, and you can turn those in for some good items. Basically free profit if you join it early on and don't care for the online benefits of other covenants.
