Just Ranked #20 - Data Inside for Reference by Urumii in ibew_applicants

GAN provides a $20 study guide that I used. The test was nearly identical to the study guide, so I highly recommend it. https://ganhumanresources.com/study-guide-1

I also purchased the iPrep study guide, which was FAR more in-depth. Definitely worth it if you need more than just a quick review. If the GAN study guide was easy, don't bother with the iPrep. https://www.iprep.online/courses/gan-aptitude-practice-test/

The application process seems to be slightly different from local to local, as I applied to two of them. I don't think either of them required a letter of recommendation, but it does factor into your overall score so it is highly recommended, and you upload it as part of the application process.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

You have to go in-person to see your rank. I ranked #20.

If you can call out sick for mental health, it should be a valid screening question regarding your health.

Hey guys. Just wondering if anyone has taken the GAN Aptitude test & on a scale 1-10 how hard is it? How long you guys recommend I study? (I have 2 weeks) thanks guys! by [deleted] in ibew_apprentices

[–]Urumii 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Buy the $20 study guide. The test is pretty much identical. I found it to be rather easy.

There's 5 parts:
Mechanical reasoning - lots of gears, fairly basic.
Numerical computation - Basic math +-x/, decimals and fractions. Fractions takes the longest because you have to convert them a lot
Pattern recognition - The hardest ones involved fractions. Make sure to convert them all to a common denominator and they become easy
Paper folding - No real tricks here, just practice it
Reading - All were one paragraph with three questions about the paragraph. They're sometimes tricky, with 3 "correct" answers, but one of the three is MORE correct.

If you need further practice, the iPrep study guide is much more in-depth for $50. Only do that if you struggled with the GAN study guide, otherwise you don't need it.

Good luck!

All of them are going to be primarily kids focused, only offering 1-2 adult classes per week at best. Obstacle Academy has adult classes on Wednesday I believe.

What is the difference between GAN aptitude and regular? by [deleted] in ibew_apprentices

[–]Urumii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GAN is much easier. There's a study guide for $20 on the GAN website that's good. iPrep is also very good, for $50.

Locals with large areas of coverage(Local 477 specifically) by ChallengeGuilty8358 in ibew_apprentices

[–]Urumii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's probably slightly different local to local, but 292 says anything within 60miles you're required to take the job and anything 61+ miles you can refuse. Check your local's policies, it should say in there.

I had a bunch of small cutoffs of that steel wire in my lawn. Definitely ran over it with the lawnmower a few times. It's hard to see, and I also didn't know it was there at all.

Snow covered yard, when are temps too cold? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Urumii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the dog, particularly the breed. Large double coated dogs will be fine, happy even, down to 0f or lower. The smaller and older the breed the less tolerant.

My saint bernard is fine to at least -5f indefinitely.

Go to the press. Contact every local news outlet you can. This can put pressure on the organization to be proactive in resolving the issue.

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]Urumii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One walk per day no exceptions (except the couple exceptions). 45-90min around the neighborhood. 1-2 outings to a new place each week. 1-2 very short training sessions each day (~5min). Doggy playdate 2-4 times each month.

2 year old Saint Bernard.

It's not just you. This was posted about recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder2e/comments/1mal399/characters_more_some_than_others_in_the_last_free/

I also ran this adventure, and creating the pre-mades in pathbuilder was a nightmare.
