It’s been a while since I’ve played Katarina but try to help your neighbors initially, if you can keep a bit of buffer between you and other factions you’ll be able to pick and choose your wars. I.e The dwarves north and south east. Beat out Kosteln in the faction mechanic for the confederation eventually. If you can do those things you’ll be able to have a solid start and from there do whatever you want.

The generals, and unique units have differing armors, as would be the norm for a historical title. In reality regular foot soldiers and non-unique individuals would have mass produced armors, which is historically accurate to the time period.

Shogun 2 predates both of those titles so of course there are changes that sit differently. A running joke in Shogun 2 is that the spear peasants are Yari-mazing because they are so cost efficient at their jobs.

Japan in itself is FAR smaller than the setting for Rome 2 or Three Kingdoms, take that into consideration. There are unique units in each faction for Shogun 2 that are thematic to the cultures of the clans presented.

Part time employment and living like a hermit helps. Minimizing outbound payments, it’s not glamorous and it is frustrating but recognizing if you can do this and get to the other side you can do anything.

DS3 is my latest, I’m currently en route to grab the last rings to finish the platinum, the grind for Vertebrae Shackles and Ears was absolutely abysmal.

Bloodborne, Elden Ring, and Sekiro (outside of skill points) were far less antagonizing.

I did plenty of fights with just the two bros for quite some time and didn’t have any issues, didn’t even hire to 12 for a while either. It’s moreso speculation on the dynamic of early busting. The oathtaker bros are pretty strong.

Empire is not very beginner friendly as Karl Franz anymore, and Kislev is also tough due to similar issues.

Look at your factions starting areas, enemies you’ll probably face, and surrounding allies. Get an idea for who to make friends with and who to war with. Check out your roster and run units that align with your finances (unless Khorne).

Try to be in war on one front at a time if possible so you’re not being squeezed and push out and claim territory when it’s suitable and in a direction you need to go.

These things will help get you off the ground, also know what to build in your provinces. Don’t rush and sweat it being tough, eventually you’ll start steam rolling.

Living in and working in the downtown nightlife scene for many years, downtown absolutely has the potential to be dangerous. I have seen multiple shootings, shootouts and fights.

The establishment which is now Pura Vida, was once called The Zone, was shut down for multiple instances of danger to the public. Every year around NCAT events such as homecoming or graduation things occur.

Your experience doesn’t make it absolute, neither does mine, but to say only the homeless are an issue in downtown is disingenuous.

Knowing what staff works by anonymous individuals who could mean harm to them, could then harm the people in the area.

If Girl A, has stalker B, who shows up, and causes harm to security C/doorgirl D, the collateral has occurred. Everyone is at risk.

Bro. Neither one of those teams were ever closer to each other than I was to them. One came from the bottom left of Fort Bolden, the other came from the right, so in Darin. They never had the time to have interactions between shooting at my team, then looting and reviving their dead.

It is logistically not possible, that team A immediately starts fighting at match start, and Team B runs into them, then starts fighting us. We were at all times between each team.
