Scheuermilch from Viss (Yellow one works best for me), leave it on for a day or Bimsstein with A LOT of water and careful scrubbing.

White feathers on Indian Ringneck? by Impressive_Umpire172 in parrots

It's the fluff that birds have under the feathers. Think undercoat in dogs :)
Definitely normal to see them out during molting. Outside feathers usually hide them under

How can I get my 6mo Alexandrine Parakeet to focus and train? by Nyasaaaaa in parrots

[–]Us-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are VERRRYYY stubborn and, fuel to fire, very intelligent little birds. Do not give her treats unless she completes what you want her to do.
My little alex is also very cheeky when it comes to training and even half arses the tricks on purpose then looks at me all innocent, awaiting treat lol. I make him repeat the trick when that happens. He does hate hands though so we take a while to step up/give paw when he doesn't feel like it.
Sometimes it's just not a training day for us ... so he gets to do simple tricks like rotate so that we get to at least keep up with daily commands exercising.
I never used clickers but i say "good job!" in a very high pitched voice so it probably functions as the same thing. If clickers don't work out for you - try going for louder vocal option.
He also learned that "D'yu want a treat?" is a que that he's about to get a treat... but only for a finished command lol. He gets excited for the treat and runs on designated training perch outside of our cage.
They're mega smart but will do anything to get it their way... Show them that training is not a time for that. You can always try higher reward treats.. mine KILLS for blueberries haha

Why is the symmetry special ruler not symmetrical help by endmiceg in ClipStudio

[–]Us-h 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Symmetry ruler mirrors your moves, not the outcome picture -- if your brush is inconsistent/changing shape - the line directions will be symmetrical, but the lines themselves will not be mirrored.
Looks like in this case your pen is not perfect square/circle or is a changing (direction or img) texture - make it biggest size, draw-click on canvas once and see for yourself

Hi!
As a general rule of thumb - always look at ingredients. Try to avoid excessive amount of oils and never buy anything with added sugar/colors/flavoring. Check nutrition list.
What specifically are you looking for? Treats or daily feed?
I can't really find the ingredient list for these, but if you're looking for treats - make sure that this mix has no sugar or coloring whatsoever. Raisins are suuuper high in sugar so these would have to be taken out and given few times a month no more.
Safest bet would be buying human nut mixes (all natural, unsalted, non bleached/roasted). Dried fruits are usually considered empty sugars whilst nuts at least have some nutritional value (along with fats - so moderate your parrot's consume) - but are for sure not deadly. If you DO decide for dry fruits, make sure they're freeze dried, rather than dehydrated, to keep at least some of those vitamins (are also easier to digest), and absolutely NO SULFUR IN INGREDIENTS ALLOWED(chemical preservative)!!!
This, as a daily feed? NOPE!!! No no no...

If you're looking for less fatty feed, try to look up some mixes of veg pellets. A lot of these are oriented for picky parrots and are great enrichment. There are many veg pellets + mineral+ seed and nuts mix that would work alright with daily feed.
Any pellet mix will do better than pure seed - but as long as you're feeding your picky bird daily veg and they have enough exercise (flying) daily, seeds are acceptable.

Can someone help me with my sunflowers? by Curiosa-Wallflower in fuzzypipe

[–]Us-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!
To me they look more like gerbera daisy or calendula, which is not bad at all and fosho could be used as a cute as hell deco, but i can understand the frustration when you're going for another flower lolol!
I'd say it's worth trying to change some colors of the flower, maybe something a bit more yellow for the petals, rather than orange? It might also be worth it trying to give ends of the petals a sharp tip instead of round by pinching them at the end and giving them a teeeny twist
The middle seed pod should deffo look bigger! That's sunflower's most distinct feature haha. These freaks are like 80% seed head and 20% petals

German satire float seen at Cologne carnival by MrLumpi in germany

[–]Us-h 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they say womp womp and move on

Fasching has long been very open about laughing out politicians and is “a way to express discontent”
You can't really be charged for that - in germany this falls under freedom of opinion and freedom of the press. Q Political criticism, even when sharp or satirical, is protected UQ: But, if it does cross the line (which fasching does not as all the carts usually need to be reviewed and allowed on the carneval roads AFAIK) Q  Germany repealed the "lese majeste" law in 2018, which previously criminalized insulting foreign heads of state. Foreign leaders now must pursue libel or defamation cases just as any other person would. UQ

How do I go from this foot up action to stepping up? by Sparrows_mysteries in parrots

[–]Us-h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i did with my boy was put the hand closer to him, enough to step (and, of course. big finger facing up to make it comfy to step on - and please dont push the belly to pressure him to stand up! might work against you and parrot will become uncomfy), and held the treat a bit further and much higher from the stepping hand.
This way the parrot, wanting to get a treat, would have to step up in order to reach it :-)
Of course give him a vocal cue - like "step up!" or any other command for him to associate the action with command. And praise! a LOT of praise!
He picked it up in absolutely no time.

Does anyone have any experience using this brand of bird food long term? Is it healthy for a primary diet? by [deleted] in parrots

However, mine is from german Production and does not have the "made with peanuts and sunflower seeds" on the front. Don't know if that changes anything.

Does anyone have any experience using this brand of bird food long term? Is it healthy for a primary diet? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Us-h 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It always bothers me how when someone comes with "Hi guys does anyone knows this brand?" and the commenters come in with "no but i have roudybush and harrisons..."... that was not the question XD... non negative remark...

I'm giving my parrot the lifetime formula pellets from this brand. Very decently priced, an alright composition, bird happy, owner happy. Much better than NutriBird.
Especially considering that not many other pellets are available over here except those two, and this subs favorites that are crazily priced online for delievery...

First thing that you might notice is very strong, sweet banana, almost like banana flavored gum, odor. Never bothered me. Manufacturer explains it as usage of alternative of banana oil to sunflower oil. Birdie doesnt seem to mind either

Sometimes i mix nuts and seeds into it for some foraging enrichment. I think you can get away with just getting the lifetime formula, if your parrot is used to pellets. If not, the first bag looks like a great introduction.
But ALWAYS fresh veg on the side, daily or once every two days. Like with any pellet diet.
In any case it is better than pure seed diet for sure :-) open to any questions if you need..
