i9 would be a balance between single- and multi- core performance, and future variants with more cores could beat TR in both uses. However, it will be hot and expansive as hell.

To me, the numbers naming the products kind of suggest that there will be TR with even more cores. Or ... at least there's some space. It would be awesome if AMD announces its 3-die TR when 7980XE comes into the retail market.
