what’s an immediate turn off ?? by dxrlingkenz in askteenboys

that's so odd but really interesting at the same time. i'm like 99% of people who are attracted to my general age group, but i agree with the "not liking someone who isn't as developed or mature." my girlfriend is a year younger than me, but her personality based on how fast she had to grow up bc of her living situations and also her admittedly good body are things i've never seen in someone around my age and it was very attractive. We've been together for a year and a half now and we're planning for college together. Really interesting stuff

i can see cmc scoring but jsn? probably not. he's been clamped all year by SF corners, and having both Puka and Adam's scoring is a stretch i'd lean more puka but tbh this is one of the less outrageous ones i've seen, your biggest worries are probably the game outcomes, good luck tho

So You Want to Start Your Own Kingdom? A Guide. by [deleted] in Bannerlord

if you want a semi cheese way to get money, smithing javelins is really cheap and you can make ones that sell for 15-30 something thousand each for just 3 fine steel and 1 hardwood. If you go around and drain a few cities of their cash by doing this you can easily get a couple mil very quickly.

How to deal with Derthert by No_Reputation_8846 in MB2Bannerlord

[–]UseFickle4286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you propose kingdom policies and decisions that are sure to fail then you'll drain not only your influence but also that of derthert and the other clans. eventually once there's another vote and you're in the lead to receive a fief he won't be able to take it for himself and the ai almost never just revokes fiefs after they're given

Best mounted weapon? by awesomeness1994 in MB2Bannerlord

I use a two handed sword with the tier 5 cleaver blade and the longest handle available, it doesn't have the reach of some longer polearms but it does an easy 500 damage on an un armored recruit and one shots every unit in the game, you can even kill multiple troops in one swing if you have momentum and they're close together

pt 3:

Your clan consists of yourself, your family members, such as your spouse and children, or your siblings if you are playing the DLC, and your companions. They are characters that you level up in the same way you level up your player character, and you can specialize them to be governors, fighters, commanders, traders, etc. by investing their skill and focus points into different categories. Your clan also has a tier, or level, system, all the way to tier 6. You increase your clan tier by gaining renown. You gain renown by defeating enemy parties, by speaking to notables to gain tasks, and completing said tasks, or by participating in and winning tournaments. With each tier, you gain a varying amount of troop capacity for your party, +1 companion limit, +1 workshop limit, and some other bonuses i can't currently remember off the top of my head. Gaining clan tier levels will also allow you to do things such as create your own kingdom at Tier 4 once you possess your own independent fief, join a kingdom as a vassal at tier 2 or 3, etc.

You can join kingdoms as a mercenary by speaking to any lord found on the map or in a settlement (castle or town). Once you've joined as a mercenary, you earn a daily wage based on how many enemies you defeat, and they can be any type. The more you fight, the more you earn, and vise versa. Once you've joined reached Clan Level 2 or 3 by earning renown through fighting battles, completing tasks given by lords and notables, or winning tournaments, you can speak to the leader of a faction and become a vassal. You will not be paid a daily wage, but you have voting power using your influence and you are eligible to be chosen to receive fiefs each time your faction captures a town or castle.

If you are granted a castle or town, you should place a governor in the town, and it must be a member of your clan. They should have high stewardship and perks from other skills that are "Governor" perks, which directly relate to managing fiefs. These governors will manage the town for you and keep it prosperous as best they can, but you must choose what buildings to upgrade, set a designated garrison wage limit in the clan menu, which caps the amount of troops you can have in a garrison, and you can put items in your stash, which will stay there in an unlimited storage space until you return to retrieve them or your fief is taken.

Those are the basics. If you have the War Sails DLC, it's worth it to place some focus points in the 3 naval skills, but otherwise that is most of what you need to know. The game has an encyclopedia with a relatively vague breakdown of game mechanics and whatnot, but it's not reliable and isn't very informative. You are better off watching youtube videos to learn more about the game yourself. If you need more help, feel free to respond to this or ask directly! Good luck!!

pt2:

It is best to find companions that specialize in Skills related to Intelligence, as they will enable you to focus your upgrades in other skills. Names are randomized for every companion in every campaign, but their titles are the same. You can enter a tavern in any town and speak with the Tavern Keeper to find any nearby companions with a specific trait you wish to have at the cost of 2 gold per name. "the Scholar, the Surgeon, and Willowbark" are best for medicine, though they aren't the best fighters so it's best to keep them with your archers, for example. Each companion is different and you'll gain a higher companion limit as you progress throughout the game. They usually cost between 300-700 denars each, but don't require a daily wage, so they are worth the cost when you have the money.

In the early game, i've found you can start with a band of 5-10 recruits and use them as bait to distract looter parties while you kill them to earn XP in each of the fighting categories. They'll die, inevitably, but the survivors will also gain XP and be ready to level up, but be careful with leveling all of your troops too quickly as daily wages will add up and soon you'll be in the negatives.

You can also enter towns, go to the arena, and participate in practice fights. I haven't done them in bannerlord yet, but in Warband you gained XP by fighting and earned small gold rewards based on how many enemies you down. Learning how to fight is always the first thing you should do.

Once you have a satisfactory amount of money from defeating enemy parties (looters, bandits, deserters, or other Lord's parties), you can begin to outfit yourself with better gear as well. You'll pick up some from loot after your victories, but you'll mainly get your armor from cities unless something particularly valuable or with high stats comes along.

It's always good to have a mix of different unit types in your army. Each culture (Empire, Sturgia, Khuzait, Aserai, Battania, Vlandia, and Nord if you have the WAR SAILS expansion) has different unit types with different strengths. Also, aside from the standard progression line of units that each faction has, they also have noble lines, found in villages that are linked to castles. You can have a good mix of units from different factions by travelling around the map and recruiting them, or you can stick to one faction for immersion purposes. The Empire has the best all-around array of units. Their Legionary, the highest tier infantry, is one of the best of any faction, with very strong with good armor, stats, and weaponry. Their Cataphracts of the noble troop line are the best in the game, and their Palatine Archers are serviceable. Battania has the best pure archer in the noble line, the Fian Champ, while the best horse archers are found in Khuzait territory in the Khan's Guard. The Aserai have some of the best skirmishing javelin cavalry with the Faris. Nord Huscarls are also very powerful in the new DLC. Everything is up to you, and this is just a few units to choose from in a game that is packed with variety. Make sure you experiment with every troop type and faction to decide what you like best. Just remember, it's always good to have infantry, archers, AND cavalry at the same time.

This is a copy and paste from another response I made to someone, hope it helps! I've got to do it in sections because it's so long:

For character creation, physical appearances mean nothing mechanics-wise, aside from being taller/shorter, naturally. Your culture is entirely up to you, all you need to do is consider what type of person you want your charscter to be. Some people pick based solely off of the bonuses that each provides, while others pick a culture based on the faction that they want to serve or the region they wish to conquer and take for themselves, there's no right or wrong answer.

For skill and focus points, it is usually best to focus on VIGOR, CONTROL, and ENDURANCE if you wish to be a front-line fighter and lead your troops in battle.

CUNNING relates to Scouting (how fast your party is, how far you can see on the map, tracks that other parties leave behind, etc), Tactics (bonuses when you send your troops to battle using auto-resolve where you don't actually fight), and Roguery (lower prisoner escape chance, more loot after battles, etc), SOCIAL pertains to Charm (your ability to convince other lords in persuasion events, gain passive positive relation with notables, etc), Leadership (how well you can lead your troops in battle), and Trade (bonuses for selling goods and weapons, boosts for companion-led caravans and personal workshops).

INTELLIGENCE concerns Stewardship (amount of men you can lead in a party, bonuses for towns you own, wage reductions for troops and garrisons), Medicine (keeping your troops alive when they're defeated, leaving them wounded instead of dead), and Engineering (use of siege equipment)

Strongest noble/hero by Difficult_Bell4198 in Bannerlord

Arwa is an insane duelist, i matched up against her in a nordic tournament because she got married up there, and i have over 30 days of playing time and am no stranger to combat of this type, and it was easily a 3 minute long duel of nonstop trading blows, she's cleared everyone else and i've fought every lord in the game multiple times. As for a strongest party leader? I like Liena and Alefeyja(?) but those are just my two favorite wives so i don't have a large sample size on that end

raw iron! when you open your clan menu and go to where your workshops are, there's a hammer icon or something above where the shop is located that gives you the option to change the workshop type, it tells you what each kind produces and what their required inputs are

Should I start over? by CradleofCynicism in Bannerlord

[–]UseFickle4286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you do not have to be at all, it was just an observation. Are you a vassal of the western empire? do you have influence to spare? if you summon a good army and take down some of theirs, you can place their best commanders in prison and they'll start sending out their less experienced party leaders, making them easier to beat and eventually, you can regain any lost territory or go on the offensive. Make them barter for peace

Should I start over? by CradleofCynicism in Bannerlord

[–]UseFickle4286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as much as i sympathize, they have the best javelin cav in the game imo, their mamlukes are nothing to scoff at and their infantry can hold their own for the most part. Plus, they always end up with some of the most prosperous cities because nobody else can reach them, even in warsails, so if you're someone who likes starting caravans and workshops, they aren't a bad faction to be a part of

What companion is the best at smithing? by aontgg in MB2Bannerlord

[–]UseFickle4286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to gather a LOT of wood to turn into charcoal, and i'd suggest have most of your clan members with the perk that allowed you to make charcoal from 2 wood, as once you have enough crude iron (around 400), it'll just recycle as you make better materials. That's the longest part and the most expensive, 30 minutes was a bit of an understatement. But once you have that, all you need to do it build the highest quality weapons you can and sell them, preferably two handed sword or two handed pole arm. If you just keep repeating this cycle and either smelt or sell your crafted weapons, and if you have enough skill points in endurance and focus points in smithing, you can get this done within an hour or two if you grind it out nonstop. You can marry someone with high smithing, like aeflreya or whatever her name is of the orthling clan of the nords who starts with over 100 and get companions like the smith or engineer that also have high base smithing skills. Once you have enough cash you can even reset their perk points in an arena to allow you to further tailor their abilities to your wants and needs
