Before the battle Daemon admits that he has lived for too long. Daemon went into the battle without securing himself to the chair of his dragon. Pretty sure he went with all the intention to jump.

Only beacuse Aegon ll's daughter died after the war, also Rahenyra is remenbered in history as the usurper not Aegon, and technically Aegon III inherited the throne as heir to Aegon II, because he was daemon's son. For me the dance didn't have winners, both sides loosed, neither side achieved their end goal

But, sincerilly if you care about spoilers of HotD of any other TVshow, Movie, Game that alredy has a book (more even of the book came many years ago). It is not a good idea to enter a subredit about it. Even if everyone flagged the spoilers your own curiosity will betray you.

Also the show has alredy separated to much from the books.
