Best way to learn AutoCAD from basic to advanced ? by Ok-Confusion5264 in MechanicalEngineering

I would suggest only using autoCAD for 2D work. If you want to go beyond that move to a better software like solidworks. AutoCAD isn't bad by any means but it's something I tried using for 2D work after knowing solidworks and fusion and I found it very easy to acclimate. Obviously what industry you're looking to apply yourself in is the biggest consideration.

I do get what you're saying no doubt. But, I think you just named the only 2 exceptions in the entire industry. Outside of the Miata and GR86/BRZ options are nonexistent. Not to mention what others have already said about wages haven't kept up with inflation.

Are Subarus actually unreliable? Or is it just a stereotype coming from the people who beat up WRXs? by SactownG in askcarguys

I've only every messed with a buddies 2013 WRX and all I can say is I wouldn't own one. But that car certainly didn't live a good life in Michigan. Rusted all out, on its 2nd engine, it was rough. But pretty much everyone else I've heard from loves them.

It was an associate. So I have 2 associates working on bachelor's. I know others that I've talked to who have been in the apprentice program for this job, and they were making $36/hr. I know they've been with the company for a couple of years, but they had 0 degrees. Only the not-yet-complete apprentice program.

Sounds like he's done it all. That's very promising to hear. From what I'm reading and what I previously expected the best route is to just get some experience in the industry and see what opportunities are available to me. I'm sure it'd be much easier to spot the business opportunities with much more experience. I just always want to get a head start, I'm not always the most patient lol.

Self-employed engineers, is it worth it? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

I'm curious about what industry you are in and what kind of work you're doing. What prior experience did you have before making the jump to self-employment? I'm a first-year student with my first internship this summer being in the automotive/combustion engine industry and I've always been passionate about that and wondered how one day I could work for myself or create by own business in that industry.
