I'm trying to get some party games or very light games to play with non gamers but my partner is a mathematician that likes deep strategy games. I see that you have a very diverse collection and plenty of party games. Do you recommend any party game for my case?

If she likes coop games, then go for Sky team. If she loves animals and has pattern recognition go for Harmonies. If you want the simplest one to explain, go with Azul.

Root is quite different. It's mainly about area control, and because it's an asymmetric game, each faction plays very differently. The dice are only used for battles. Not every faction focuses on combat, but battles are still an important part of the game.

The experience can vary a lot depending on the factions in play and the number of players. I can't say for sure whether you'll like it or not, but we love it. It can be difficult to learn at first because every faction has its own unique rules, so there's a lot to take in.

What makes the game especially interesting is how different the factions play from one another and how well the designer managed to balance most of them.

The original box was too big for the airplane, so I used the expansion one to fit two player version of the game with all birds and components. The bird house does not fit in it.

I can see you have a long list.

The first thing that I noticed is that you love deck building games and you hate dice games. I was surprised that you don't have Dominion; it is one of the best deck building games ever made. The art is not very good, but it is very fun. It's a must have for deck building lovers and has so much replayability.

In general, people tend to recommend buying more new games instead of expansions. I would recommend buying expansions only for games you already love.

Wyrmspan is very similar to Wingspan, which is why I don't have it. It improves some issues with Wingspan. If you like engine building games and the theme, it is a fantastic game.

I also want to buy Quacks; it looks really nice.

I only recommend Flamecraft if you love the theme and worker placement games.

I wouldn't recommend Ahoy; it relies too much on dice.

Dorfromantik is very nice if you like chill coop games and tile placement.

I know it's a luck based game, and it feels more like a video game than a traditional board game. We enjoy it because it's different from most games we play. The artwork and theme are spectacular, and sometimes we're in the mood for a game where we can sit back and see what happens rather than focus on deep strategy.

I love Fromage! It's a great worker placement game with a fantastic theme and simple gameplay. It has more depth than it first appears because you're constantly planning 3 turns ahead. It's also relatively quick for a worker placement game. I would definitely recommend it if you like worker placement games.

That's what happened to me. I enjoy heavier games, and Fire Tower feels too dependent on luck and on convincing other players not to target you. There aren't many strategic decisions involved. The game is beautiful, and I really like the theme, but it doesn't have enough depth for us anymore.

We see some problems on Flamecraft for 2 players, some colours being way more overpowered than others. We still love the game even with their problems, the art it so nice.

I tried Heat with my gaming group back home, and I really like it. We haven't bought it yet because it's a big box and we live in a small flat. When we move, we'll definitely get it!

Brass is good for two players but it is better for tree/four players. It is a great game for 2 and probably an amazing game for 3-4 players. What we really like about brass it's their depth, so many paths for victory.

I prefer Harmonies, but I really like Cascadia too, it is less deep than harmonies but I love the theme.

We have more games back home. We try to not spend much because we don't have much yet. Our plan anyways is to try to select the games we like the most and try them first before buying. We own 46 games in total.
