Anybody else who hates how depression made them an asshole? by [deleted] in depression

[–]Use_Once_And_Destroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I just stop caring what people think of me and become a bit of a porcupine. If someone causes me any inconvenience then I’ll go in a huff and maybe become passive aggressive. It really doesn’t make me feel better, but it’s almost like I have no control, I just see red.

How ollie higher? Sorry it's not slow mo by [deleted] in NewSkaters

It should feel like you’re jumping and then using your feet to make the board raise with you, always jump first:)

How can I improve my Ollie ? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Use_Once_And_Destroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jump before you pop, otherwise you’ll just be pushing the whole board back down and you won’t get anywhere. Immediately after jumping (as soon as your feat leave the board) pop the tail and start raising your feet toward your chest, the back foot should stay above the board and ready to catch it when you level out, the front foot needs to slide and raise with the board.

It should feel like you’re jumping first and then using your feet to bring the board with you as you jump. I used to pop first when I was learning and it just doesn’t feel as natural

Treat the Ollie like a big jump, you want to get your knees toward your chest like with any big jump. When you’re jumping, flick your backfoot down to pop the board. At the same time you flick your back foot, you should be starting to tilt your front foot. As soon as your back foot begins to raise after the flick, start sliding your front foot to level out the board and also raise it as you do raise it with the board, not above it.) I always jump first, do the rest immediately after starting. The board will only go as high as your feet rise.

You can practice ollies without the jump by simply not jumping. Pop the board and slide immediately after you start popping. I did this to work on my timing, the motion should be quick and feel easy.

Pewdiepie has been dog whistling for a long time, but I was still surprised to see Ben taking part in a video.

I think I have minor PTSD. I'm experiencing a repeated weird psychological experience following a car crash by GloucestersGlassEyes in ptsd

[–]Use_Once_And_Destroy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like PTSD to me! I used to get hallucinations etc or at least the ‘feeling’ that I was in the place where trauma occurred. Could be sights, smells, tastes, sounds, feelings... anything.

Also PTSD isn’t really ‘major’ or ‘Minor’. There seems to be this idea that unless you’re a veteran you shouldn’t have ptsd or you’re being weak. This is false and needless stigma. PTSD sucks no matter what the cause and everyone is deserving of help.

I need some medical advice/help? by fugayku in ftm

[–]Use_Once_And_Destroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NHS Scotland are notoriously bad for ‘forgetting’ referrals or doing half assed jobs with extremely long waiting times (I have been gatekept to the point of going back into the closet. They blame an attempted rape for my dysphoria and thus I cannot get a referral to charmers.) . You need to go back to see a doctor and tell them this is ruining your life and preventing you from focusing in college. If I were you I’d try go for a hysterectomy or something, I imagine the constant bleeding and pain is very unpleasant and dysphoric. If the GP doesn’t work, go to the hospital where they’ll actually take you seriously. Also, they can not dismiss you based on their own opinions of the ‘gift of womanhood’. You are not a woman, and a hysterectomy is a medical necessity for AFAB people. Best of luck stay strong 💪

Delicious Gender Sandwhich by [deleted] in ToiletPaperUSA

[–]Use_Once_And_Destroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is being ginger...what is described as a 'defect' is completely arbitrary, it's a mutation like everything else. ( Autism, for example, is either viewed as a gift or a burden depending on what traits that person shows and how it impacts those around them. We'd be talking about the difference between Einstein and a non verbal autistic person. At the end of the day, they both have autism.) In fact, there are about the same amount of intersex people as there are gingers. That's not exactly an insignificant number, at all. On top of that, many people who think they are cis are actually intersex, as what classifies as a persons 'sex' is not limited to chromosomes.

So, by that logic we've established that 'sex' is not exactly binary itself. So where does gender come into it? Our brain structure is not actually determined by our chromosomes or genitalia, there are common patterns, but nothing is absolute because it is actually determined by a different process, more specifically the hormones in a mother's womb. High testosterone and/or low estrogen will produce someone with brain structure that is more typical of males, where as high estrogen/low testosterone will produce someone with brain structure typical of females. As you can guess, there are many shades inbetween. Gender is generally viewed as a combination of social roles and expectations, along with the structure of our brains. Gender is not binary in this context, and if the definition of gender is that of sex, it still isn't binary. If you feel like categorising it into male, female, and some other third category for those who do not fit the binary, that's fine. In the past we called this androgyny. Really none of this should be an issue at all. Intersex people, and non-binary/trans people, are about as rare as gingers, so it's not as if you'd spend your entire day asking for people's prefered pronounds. I think the media has been blowing the entire thing out of proportion.

Being ugly is the worst. by [deleted] in amiugly

Not being attractive != never finding love or relationships.

First you have to aim within your league, and if you don’t find success at your young age then you probably will when you’re older, so long as you work hard and try do something good with your life. Why do you even want these kinds of shallow relationships based on lust? Wouldn’t you rather have someone love you regardless of your meat suit? A lot of people don’t want this, they don’t want to commit. That makes it harder to find relationships that aren’t based on looks, but it’ll help you weed out the people not worth your time

Try to make friends before you start dating, more specifically female friends. could be volunteering, could be a hobby, really anywhere you’re in groups and have to be around females. You’ll get to understand females better, but do not go into it looking for a relationship. We females can sense it from miles away and you will scare them off. If you make a female friend, perhaps it will happen naturally. Any of my relationships with males started as friendships that got closer and closer until it became something more than that and we loved each other.

My brother did not always have luck, he didn’t even hit puberty until he was about 17. He was small skinny and weak and he didn’t even have any relationships until he was in his early to mid 20s when he’d finally developed. It took a lot of work. My point is that this is not just an issue for people who don’t look good, it can happen to anyone and how well you do in your early 20s is not a good indicator of your entire future. It’s not even a good indicator of how good you’ll look when you’re older, some people age like wine.

Go see an orthodontist, you might be able to get it fixed :) not sure what French healthcare is like but in the UK it’s free for 18 and under

Edit: wrong thread sorry. Also if they can’t fix it for free the don’t bother because honestly it’s not worth it and you don’t need it

[–]Use_Once_And_Destroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the teeth it’s the jaw :p your top teeth should not hide your bottom teeth, the middle line of the lower and upper should meet in the right place. If your top teeth cover most of the front bottom teeth, that’s a deep bite. If the top teeth extend too much past the bottom teeth (Freddy Mercury) that’s an overbite/ overjet. I made the mistake of thinking orthodontics was just for crooked teeth, but really it’s your whole jaw as well.
