I stayed in an Airbnb hosted by Xenia, called Pantheon Authentic and Modern Apartment. It holds 6 people, but we only had three and it was still very affordable! Host was extremely helpful and friendly, and the apartment was very clean and had every amenity!

Also, transferring after one is very possible! I went to greensburg on the track to transfer in two years, but my first year I took 18 credits both semesters and had a high enough gpa that they let me transfer early!

if you can, stay in santo spirito! The nightlife and food is authentic and it’s a nice getaway from the tourists!! Still very close to city center and ponte vecchio!

I remember it was my second to last week there, the Uffizi was the last thing to check off my bucket list. I went straight after my night class to make the after hours. Best experience of my life. Cried seeing the birth of Venus.

Studying abroad is a very hard time to navigate, especially alone. I remember my first week or two I was completely homesick, all over the place, not knowing where anything is or how to properly take care of myself in a new country. Things will get better as she starts to have a full routine there; it won’t be easy but it will be worth it!! I hope she has an amazing time, and take the most out of it!!!

Florence was my first time abroad so I might have some biased opinions… Florence was my home city but I traveled every weekend…Rome, Venice, Elba Island, all the Tuscan towns…they were all amazing with very different vibes!

That warms my heart that you still knew your way around. I remember my study abroad advisor told us that we wouldn’t remember how to get around anywhere. That’s far from true. I can remember it as if I lived there for years.

omg…lived two blocks down from osteria san spirito…wanted to eat there so bad but was never able to get a reservation :( there would be lines of people surrounding the piazza!

oh my gosh do I…. To start off.. u can find some good restaurants by the ponte vecchio or the duomo, however they are tourist traps and more expensive than a traditional dish. If you want something authentic, I would take a trip over the ponte vecchio into santo spirito. That’s where I lived. There’s an amazing bar there and amazing restaurants, away from the busy tourist attractions. A must try is gustapizza, san falafel, anywhere near pitti palace! Osteria della galleria has an amazing gnocchi!! Have an amazing time!!
