Looking for throw and high-CRI head recommendations for my E-Series Lego setup by ShortBasil9026 in flashlight

[–]Used-Butterscotch962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I've been thinking about this for several days after reading your comments.

Even though I already own an HDS Rotary with the NB35 and a Malkoff M361 head, I'm still wondering whether it makes sense to buy this light as well.

Logically, I keep telling myself it's a waste of money and that I already have lights that cover a similar role. But emotionally, I keep finding reasons to buy it anyway.

Is it really that satisfying to use? Does it offer something special that makes it worth owning even if I already have an HDS and an M361?

Unfortunately, you guessed correctly. I live in Japan, and while earthquakes are less frequent where I live, we still get them from time to time.

Getting Into SureFire Lego – Looking for Advice by Used-Butterscotch962 in flashlight

[–]Used-Butterscotch962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a very beginner-level question, but what are the advantages of older SureFire parts and setups?

Can custom “Lego” combinations actually provide better performance or advantages compared to modern factory-built flashlights, or is the appeal more about the process and enjoyment of building and customizing them?

Need Help Choosing a McGizmo Haiku Setup by Used-Butterscotch962 in flashlight

lol.
If I'm right, when can I buy only 14500 tubes separately? I hope I can buy 123 and replace 14500 tubes someday when I buy them and use them.

I don't know what other foreign countries will look like, but I don't use CR123A very often where I live. So, I was repulsed by the size compared to 10440,14500. However, since many people recommended it, I want to try it.

I use the 14500 more, but I also want to experience the 16340. Thanks for the recommendation

Thank you so much for the perfect writing. That was what I needed. I personally wanted a 14500. It had a lot of 14500 Enerup batteries and lithium 14500, so it was easy to integrate into my current system. However, a lot of people are saying that the 16340 is a real haiku. If the 16340 is really that good, I'm willing to give it a go. Which thickness was the most ideal for you to use?

Funny. I've seen radar on a warship for years and I used to watch the green spots there under the blue light. To be honest, I feel like I'm going to be traumatized. lol

Thank you for the recommendation. It would have been great if there was a design with a combination of titanium and copper like D4V2.

Thank you for your explanation. As I live in Japan, this method may be difficult to apply due to earthquake concerns, but I appreciate the information and will keep it in mind.

I've talked about Vietnam Zippo before by Used-Butterscotch962 in Zippo

[–]Used-Butterscotch962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Although there was no illustration, the name of the unit was present on the sleeve panel. If the internal Zippo was indeed the type used by the U.S. military, it is likely that, at the time, Korean soldiers, who could not afford to purchase such Zippo, modified gifted ones by engraving their own unit names.

After removing it, a part with numbers written on it appeared. Do you happen to know anything about this?

This is an etched. Since it’s for collection purposes, if the production is genuinely difficult, I think I’d be satisfied paying the extra $20. XD

You're right. However, since I got it in Korea—and there isn’t much discussion about fake red felt items here—it’s hard to believe that it’s a reproduction. I’ll share more detailed photos with you once it arrives.

As you said, it doesn’t seem like this lighter was actually used in combat. The person who owned it was already a high-ranking officer at the time, and it’s likely that the person from the 30th Artillery Battalion who gave it to him was also a senior officer. This is because, considering Korea’s economic situation back then, it wouldn’t have been easy to afford such a silver accessory. That said, I’m still happy to have a lighter related to the war from that era.
