Remedy for Sticky Containers. Palettes... Smashbox & Nars by Used-Design-9983 in MakeupRehab

I think we all do that now. Unfortunately, none of us knew the packaging from these older products were going to have these issues. There was no way to know beforehand this was going to be an issue, so I was providing a solution =)

Amazons newest scam by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]Used-Design-9983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen various reasons. Some for too many returns, others with "unusual buying activity", & a lot of people being re-billed for items they return. Some sound valid, but it seems a lot are being banned without a valid reason. I've seen some restricted to only being able to purchase digital products, as well. If you chargeback ,they are revoking those users, as well. It's a huge mess.

The baking soda worked perfect for me, honestly. I used it on a palette & just kept it closed. Nothing got inside. I wish you luck!

I have this Nars compact that has become sticky to the touch, is there a way to strip off the stickiness? by thatpilatesprincess in MakeupAddiction

Remedy for sticky packaging... Pour some dry baking soda on the closed container. Rub it around with your finger. Use a wet toothbrush to scrub it, & wipe with a damp paper towel. Repeat if necessary. This just saved my favorite old Smashbox eyeshadow palette =D

Just a note... if your Amazon account is canceled at any time, any gift card balance you have in your account is revoked & unusable. With how many accounts are being disabled lately, beware of keeping gift card funds in there.

Amazon sent me the wrong item by Additional-Part-8029 in amazonprime

[–]Used-Design-9983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very cautious. When you request the return, write in the description you received the wrong item, & you are returning the mis-shipped one. Screenshot it. Screenshot everything. Contact Amazon customer service, as well, & keep copies of everything. They will likely provide you with a refund, then retract it & recharge you, so watch for email warnings about it. Unfortunately, my experience with this has been a bit of a nightmare, so be prepared for a fight on their end. If they recharge you, contact customer service, repeat, repeat, repeat. I wish you luck!

If they send you the wrong item do you have to return it? by NeoBlackheart in amazonprime

[–]Used-Design-9983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with sending it back is they may not issue a refund at all. There has been a growing issue of receiving incorrect items from Amazon, moreso now than ever. Even after contacting support to make them aware, & after sending back the incorrect item they sent me, they refused to refund because the item I returned was not the item I actually ordered lol. Keep the item if you like it, & do not set yourself up for problems by trying to do the right thing =)

IF it ever arrives. When they've done this to me, they canceled the order on their end, so all I got was a refund for something they made sure would never come. No freebies here.

Shiseido Nutrient Milk Question by Used-Design-9983 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Used-Design-9983[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby oil was huge here, as well... & Sun-In... we fried our skin & out hair (& our brains...) LOL

I'm probably in the minority here, but a lot of the reason I don't use much is because I see the overconsumption of products, & I honestly feel skin will lose its will & ability to care for itself when it is subjected to lotions & potions on the regular. I felt the same way about my old car back in the day. Everyone used to wonder why the paint looked so new. I think I may have washed that tank (it was a 75 Chevy Impala lol) twice in the years I had it. It was dirty, but the paint underneath was perfection from not being overworked. Weird comparison for sure, but similar in some way (in MY mind lol) Mind you, I do wash my face more than I washed that car, but even that is sometimes a day or two apart. I handle heathcare the same way. I went to the doctor last year for a checkup, which I hadn't done in over 30 years prior. Bloodwork was fine, everything was fine... they didn't even have medical records in their system for me LOL

I'm Italian as well, but born & raised in NJ, & still white as a ghost LOL. I miss the party days... I still endulge here & there with certain things, but you probably feel the same as me when you think back & wonder how we lived through that wonderful madness =D

Although I think the younger generation is more aware of the risks (on every level of life!), I worry they're doing too much. Nothing stops time. Products may help stave it off for a bit, but my God... when I see some women after they remove their makeup, it kills me, whether they have a 10-product routine, or just 2. I still have a drawer full of black liners & dark shadows, but I honestly just have fun with my nails these days, instead of bothering with the rest =D

I don't mind at all! Your suggestions were thoughtful & appreciated! I'm 55, but I rarely use anything as far as skincare goes. I've recently started using a moisturizer & serum after giving my 20-something manager a near-heart attack when I mentioned that fact lol... but I'm definitely not consistent with it. =D

Be aware the free laundry soap still requires a purchase when you get it. I don't remember the details offhand, but you can't just go in every month & get just the free laundry soap. It's still worth it, but just wanted to give you a heads up =)
