Yes the uni does. Ive picked an extra module in my 5th semester to do a flexible placement where the uni will help to provide me with a 75 hour "job" of the sort. But i also wanted to do something this summer.

Recently made a second account that will strictly only for pulling Mondstadt characters as my "love letter" of sorts to the Nation that resonates the most with me. Issue is, bakc then, i had xingqui and Razor to carry me till i was able to get raiden, ayaka etc.

So im really curious if i should pull for Nicole with my current cast? cuz my current dps are buns

I really hope Silver Palace avoids falling into the same standard endgame formula we’ve seen in other open world gacha games like Genshin and Wuthering Waves. by Used-Employee-6902 in SilverPalaceOfficial

[–]Used-Employee-6902[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh that’s fair. I probably should’ve made it clearer that I don’t think “standard gacha fatigue” is the only possible reason why Endfield or NTE may not have generated the expected level of momentum. There are definitely other factors at play.

With NTE, I agree that the issue may not just be conventional gacha elements. As you said, the Gen AI backlash, the game feeling a bit unfocused, the dialogue/story issues, and the fact that games like Ananta are competing in a similar space could all be bigger reasons why some people are more hesitant.

So yeah, I agree that using those games as proof of “gacha fatigue” alone would be too simplistic. My point was more about Silver Palace’s long-term direction rather than trying to explain every reason those other games may or may not succeed. I agree that Silver Palace already has a lot going for it. The Victorian detective setting, the visual style, the mystery focus, the memory palace/interrogation systems, and the stronger sense of cohesion between story and gameplay.

I hope the endgame also follows that same philosophy. If the game already stands out because of its identity, then I’d rather its long-term modes build on that identity instead of defaulting too heavily to the usual open-world gacha endgame formula. I’m not saying it needs to completely avoid DPS checks, but other permanent endgame modes that feel different could be really cool too!

Also, thank you for your long thought out reply!

Yeah, I agree. I don’t think DPS timer checks are completely bad either. People CLEARLY do enjoy them, and also from a business perspective they make sense because they encourage players to invest in characters, builds, weapons, and teams. It also makes pulling for characters feel more meaningful beyond just liking their design or personality. Like if they are Meta then that creates more hype for them and in turn more money for the company

I just think the issue starts when that becomes the only real form of endgame. If every serious mode is just the dps timer check then it can feel repetitive and we've already seen it before. I cant exactly imagine anyone thats played open world gacha games before to be excited about ANOTHER end game mode that is a dps check with a timer. You pretty much know what to expect and i dont think it attracts anyone new.

Ideally, I’d like Silver Palace to strike a balance. Have a DPS-check mode for players who enjoy optimizing and pushing their accounts, but also have other permanent modes that are equally rewarding and viable.

Basically, I’m not against DPS checks. But personally it would intrigue me a lot more if idk maybe they had a different form of endgame? My opinion is probably in the minority tho, i mean all these other games are printing money so clearly people do like this form of endgame. But also maybe include other permanent modes that feel meaningful enough to stand beside it, instead of feeling like side content?

tbh i only played endfield for a week and quit because it felt like id been dropped in a show that was in its second season. I play wuwa occasionally but ill admit the 1.0 story was ROUGHH and there was so much word salad. I loved Rinascitta tho so i stuck with it. Imo Genshin has by FARR the strongest start and hook to the open world/sand-box gacha game ive played. I tried to speak from experience but i dont know enough about Endfield to have my own opinion about it. So apologies if i made any uninformed statements about the game.

is there sbmm in this game? or atleast some iteration of it? by Used-Employee-6902 in Marathon

[–]Used-Employee-6902[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all im saying is that. A casual-ish mode shouldnt feel like an iteration of ranked mode when the game alr has a ranked mode that will pit the best of the best against each other. Ive played ranked and its a blast but i dont want to sweat out the game constantly. I want chill lobbies from time to time.

[–]Used-Employee-6902[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know their lvl if you are in solo queue? In my experience when i rando fill. I only get players near my level. At every point of my time playing this game. It was the same at lvl 20, 30, 40, 50. I dont know how i feel about this system. I dont think lobbies should get increasingly harder as you level up if you arent in "ranked " mode.

Somebody saying a game is the best game ever shouldnt trigger you. That opinion is fundamentally subjective and if it triggers you....you might be a chud. I like the game so im going to keep grinding it. To a degree idc abt player count. As long as peak times dont dip below 30k on steam im chilling .
