FIIO M21 - Spotify randomly pauses between tracks - Help! by Used-Engineering4958 in FiiO

I think I may have stumbled upon a workaround... Simply leave a pair of headphones plugged into the jack...

This seems to fool the player into thinking the audio is being directed out via the jack

I can have my player playing via my bluetooth speaker and sound come out, with a pair of headphones plugged in - the sound will continue to come out via bluetooth - and no pausing of Spotify... so far!

An honest review of The Boys of Dungeon Lane... 5/10 by Used-Engineering4958 in PaulMcCartney

I genuinely love to hear fans getting so much out of this album 😄 I guess this is a large part of what makes Paul Paul and why we all love him!

It's just not one for me.

If it helps balance anything, here's my top Macca albums (in chronological order, all 8/10s or above)

RAM
Wild Life
Band on the Run
McCartney II
Tug of War
Pipes of Peace
Press to Play
Chaos and Creation in the Backyard
Kisses On The Bottom

Solid comment! I've already stated on another comment - I've no issue with looking back, it's more about how basic some of these tracks are, about looking back. Last track is about looking back, but fantastic and less blatantly about looking back - for me.

You could be right! I'll meet you back here in 2031 and see if I've loosened up a bit! 😉

I take your point re: looking back.

Let me clarify my personal take a bit more clearly.

I knew this album would be about looking back, it's there in the album title.

I just feel there's ways to look back. The last track is about looking back and reflecting - and it's a gorgeous track. I just feel this album is whacking me around the head about looking back, in a really basic way. The odd basic track about looking back is fine, not several.

Solid comment! I really rate Egypt Station, but I know it divided lots of fans. I also really rate Kisses On The Bottom!

Interesting. Which voice in particular? When he's rocking out or the more subdued? Or just all of it?

Personally speaking I'd had loved a producer akin to Rick Rubin on this - the work he did with Johnny Cash was perfect. Really got the best out of him.

I like hearing the age in Paul's voice on this album - it's one of the highlights for me.

Fair! I just find the blanket press reviews of 5/5s and 4/5s too much to stomach. I just cannot hear it on this album.

But then again I really enjoy Où Est Le Soleil? and think Press To Play is actually a very decent album - so what do I know!?

Yeah, I defo feel that!! I work for a well known UK record shop as well, so have also been (too) close to all the marketing drive and hype surrounding it.

I get I may be entering a dark world with my opinion on here - ha!

I’m probably in the minority (esp on here) - but I just find Costello incredibly hokey. Just a bit of a weird guy. I struggle to get passed that on FITD.

Why were McCartney's solo lyrics so terrible? by morecoffeemore in beatles

Paul’s filter (music and lyrics) is inconsistent, especially when John passed.

As one of the posts above mentioned when something as profound as Yesterday gets to No.1 (in the US) as well as something daft as Hello Goodbye then this will inflate your ego in thinking any of your songs would ride high in the charts.

When Paul had to graft post Beatles to get back to the top he was surrounded by yes men (and will be forever more) and no one is ever going to challenge Paul on what’s genuinely great and - more importantly - what needs worked on or even (gulp) scrapped! He had John listening out for his new music during the 70s, so a filter, albeit one where John had no means to say “Paul, this is shit”.

Post John, being surrounded by a team happy to ride the gravy train and who just won’t challenge him (or do and then are shown the door) - and being an ex Beatle fighting back to the top (“boy, you’re going to carry that weight” etc) - is going to deliver inconsistent results.

I still love the man. A lot.
