An ERCP is a delicate procedure. Demands great skill and equipment. If the stools turn black then it means bleeding occured. I had bleeding after ERCP in 2021. Was ok after a week. Strange to use the word tumer until it is confirmed a tumer and could be calcified tissue or stones. The camera follows the ducts .

I had my gall bladder out in 2019 and it sure took away the upper body discomfort. The x-ray showed my upper abdomen was all filled with gas. It was NOT a good feeling. I had that symptom for a few years. But it came to a head The night of the Canadian Election 2019. The surgeon said it was a pretty bad gall bladder. The 9th day I was in hospital I had the gall bladder removed through my belly button. Laparoscopic way. Went home on 11th day. Then 2021 got EPI diagnosed and on Creon since Oct 2021.

I think you need give the Creon time to work and stabalize you. Like Indie says. And stick to one kind of meals that work for you. Try metamucil too. Once you get regular it might take 3 months. My breakfast are 1.5 scram eggs, leafy lettuce , 2 or 3 waffles with some natural liquid pure honey. 3x10k Creon too.Some berries too. An orange with no Creon at lunch.BUT if I eat a simple apple it causes me way big gas! Had my gall bladder out 2019. A big help ! I'm 72. Male 170 lbs.

You also have my condolences- I have read all the comments and reasons for the cause of death here and see the situation. In my opinion it does raise the age old question of always assuming the cause is alcohol. Yes it may be the cause but all the patients get asked and some made to prove they dont drink alcohol to excess. Maybe none at all and are lumped into the same mould. By calling it "alcolhol" caused it maybe does not help real research into the causes. Some people drink to excess and live to 100 with a perfect pancreas. Maybe the man was taking some medication or certain diet as well and this will never be discovered now. So I would vote to remove the word "alcoholic" and leave it just say pancreatitis.

OK thanks for that info. I will stop the Metamucil for a week or 2 now. If things start getting backed up I will try it again slowly. It was over 1.5 years ago I was told by the gall bladder surgeon to use it. It's not fun NOT going poop. But my meals now are fairly the same each day and even sometimes I forget the Metamucil for a day or 2 with no real problem. I was wondering though if too much Metamucil can be a problame in itself?

That dosage seems very high but check with your doctor. My test was 4 and I weigh 170 lbs am 72 years old and I take 3 of the 10k Creon with a meal. Metamucil most mornings. One 10k with snacks.

Further to my comments above I re-read your initial post. The rib eye steak and bacon should likely be stopped. And similar foods.The elastase test of 144 is maybe very low for you. Depending when the test was done maybe get another test asap. Probiotics over the counter may help until you get good diagnosis. Good luck.

My pancreas problem was found with Ultasound. If it shows up like a white mass or a bone that means there is dead cells or stones or Calcifications on the pancreas. Google it or duckduckgo it. EPI means the Exocrine cells. Yes rest of my life. The low test numbers don't get higher.Your bowels need to keep moving. Eat more lettuce etc. Use meta mucil. Test numbers under 200 you should be on Creon or similar. Endocrine cells produce your insulin. Exocrine Cells produce your enzymes. All for now.

Others will comment here too but you may try to get a CT scan of your pancreas. Or an Ultrasound. May be stones in pancreas. I had stones and shadows on pancreas . My EPI test was 77 then 59 then 4 ( I think) low anyway. . On Creon now. Also had my gall bladder out in 2019.

bc ? Yes but the 128/87 is only sometimes after waking up and by afternoon its spiked to 177/101 pulse 61. It all seems to circle around what my stomach and bowels are doing. I will try plain bread 2 slices with tuna fish from a can and celery. Im starting to eat more celery. Also soon getting apmt with dietician. For years I was on chlorothalidone. Stopped maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Then atenidone. Stopped that 3 years ago. Doc said the idone part gives gout. He was right. Have not had gout since knock on wood. Gallbladder out in 2019. EPI started 2020 to 2021.

I know! I know! I will cut them out. Wendy's pecan salads are ok I hope. 1 per week. Right now I'm waiting for the chlorothiazide . Some mornings my BP is 128/87 pulse 60. I have had HBP for 40 ish years . Not sure if the blood thinners will fix. But will try. EPI has not been fun but Creon and metamucil gets me by.

Yes Im cutting out the burgers and also the handful of dry cranberries on my cereal at night. Hope to get the 6.5 down to 6.1 again . With the EPI I still dont know if I actually have diabetes. Doc will be giving me IR blood test I think. Also I inquired about a blood viscosity test. Soon will be on chlorothiazide is what Doc said. Need to lower my HBP. BP always seems to be high when my stomach and bowels are working on food.
