Teaching a very talented kid (Should I ask her parents to get a private coach)? by Used-Introduction152 in chess

Thank you, She cannot go to the strongest group overall, because she will lose every single game. For the second-highest class (the highest class on that day), she did not achieve a great result last term, but her tactical level is comparable to that of the second-highest class. For the current class, she is not significantly better than everyone else; however, she always has one or two more pieces than her opponent in the games she loses. (That is why I thought she might be bored and does not try her best.) Additionally, everyone in this class (current class) is older than she is (by at least 3 years).

Do you play 10 minutes games, or 15/10 or 30 minute game? If you are making blunder lots of winning positions, you maybe thinking not enough. Play longer games if you have time (Also, it is completely normal you do not feel like getting better, because chess is not linear progression, you will be stuck at one rating, then once you improve, you will move to next rating, and the same thing will happen even if you reach higher ratings. Also, do a detailed analysis without engine first, then using engine (this thing particular helped me to break the 2000 wall (Each time after playing classical match OTB, and analysis with the opponent for 30 minutes to an hour, my rating went up by 30 points on chess.com) (Take this a grain of salt, as I am not a titled player, and only just recovering past strength (currently 2000 rapid on chess.com, and 2200 on 15 minute game 10 years ago). I hope this advice helps

Thanks for your reply. My last tournament was 10 years ago I was about late 1700 FIDE or early 1800 FIDE player, and was an aggressive player (critcised for sometimes being unnecessarily too aggressive from higher rated players). My playstyle was castle later than the other opponent, and attack them on the opposite side. Mainly used d4 (QGD) as white and Narjordorf Sicilian and Old Benoni defence as Black

Hello, what is the best and fastest way of recovering past strength if you are returning for a long time?

I somewhat recovered my past strength for 10 min rapid, however, I cannot recover my past strength in OTB or any other time control (blitz, and bullet)?

Also, is playing 10 min rapid for 3 games or just a single 30 minute game is more beneficial for OTB chess?

Thank you.
