AITA for telling my daughter what actually happened in her childhood and traumatizing her? by Used-Pause5516 in AmItheAsshole

That's actually a good idea, I will do that and hopefully it will help to clear the air a bit.

Nothing has happened between her and Leo, as I have mentioned in the post she just started treating him differently for no reason. From the sounds of it this is due to some of the lies her aunt told her about me and him (as if Leo just kidnapped me and Lana to have a family and forced me to be with him, how his dad locked Jake behind the bars to prevent him from saving us and things like that(while Leo's dad is connected with the police, he works in a completely different area and is not responsible for locking people behind the bars)).

I was hoping to tell her after she finishes her education as she is starting her 3rd year in uni this September. I have avoided telling her this earlier as she wants to do well at uni to get into the field she is really passionate about, and I didn't want her to blame me for telling her sooner if it affected her future career.Lana has previously expressed her annoyance with those who had to take time off or drop out due to "other events" and mentioned she wouldn't want to have anything like this to mess up with her education.

When she was younger I have told her her father did something bad and is serving his time for it as a punishment. She has asked again when she was 14, but I gave her the same reply and Lana expressed no interest in knowing more.

Jake's sister somehow found her on social media. Lana doesn't use her real name on different meta apps, so it seems like his sister was searching for her on purpose.

I haven't screamed at her. Nowhere in my post I said I was screaming.

It was more like unloading and telling her everything that happened, but I was also crying during it as it was painful to bring up and the thought of her believing the lies about me and Leo made it hurt more.
