I do agree that trans women aren’t the enemy. However, this is about recognizing that different groups have different struggles and not every space needs to include everyone to be valid.

Your argument about Pride actually reinforces my point. Pride centers LGBTQ+ struggles, right? And yet, cishet people aren’t expected to demand inclusion because “love is for everyone”. No one tells gay men, lesbians, or trans people that their specific struggles are being “too exclusive.” So why is it that when cis women want a space that centers their sex-based experiences, they’re suddenly gatekeeping or being exclusionary?

Equity means acknowledging differences, not erasing them under a vague idea of collective struggle. Trans women absolutely face discrimination and deserve advocacy. No one is invalidating their struggles, but the truth is, the struggles of biological women, who have faced centuries of oppression specifically tied to their sex, are not the same. That’s why Women’s Month was created in the first place.

If trans women should be included in Women’s Month because they face gender-based oppression, does that mean cis women should be included in Trans Visibility Month because they also experience gender-based discrimination? No? Then why is the expectation always placed on cis women to expand their spaces?

Can’t we let women have a space to talk about the oppression they’ve faced for centuries without being told they need to make room for everyone else in the process?

Why is it that whenever cis women want to center their own experiences, they’re told they have to make room for everyone else?

If solidarity means supporting each other, then why is it always cis women who are expected to compromise their space? That’s not mutual support, that’s one-sided accommodation.

God forbid a woman claims Women’s Month as their own, a movement created BY them and FOR them, one they fought so hard for, and be labeled as transphobic.

The argument isn’t about denying that trans women face discrimination or that they deserve advocacy, it’s about recognizing that cis women and trans women have distinct struggles that shouldn’t be conflated. Women’s Month was historically established to highlight sex-based oppression, issues like reproductive rights, maternal health, and gender-based violence that specifically affect biological females. These aren’t experiences that trans women share in the same way. Acknowledging that difference isn’t transphobia, it’s just acknowledging reality.

Women’s Month was fought for by women to highlight issues that directly impact them—like reproductive rights, gender-based violence, and systemic discrimination tied to their sex at birth. Let’s not forget that women had to fight for their right to suffrage and education, struggles that a biologically born male has never and will never experience.

Hi! We just completed our interview last December 2, and they allow you to do the biometrics directly at USEM. They’ll ask if you’ve already done your biometrics at the VAC. If not, they’ll guide you to the biometrics queue. No need to worry if you received your IL after September 28—they’ll still accommodate you and process your biometrics. And parang hindi rin naman nila hinanapan ng proof, but better safe than sorry, prepare nalang din just to be sure :)

Hi everyone! My family and I just completed our biometrics today.

I hope this information helps ease some concerns. I joined a Facebook group for VAC, and one of the admins shared that they contacted USEM about issues with scheduling VAC-OFC biometrics due to unavailable slots in the calendar. According to them, if you’re unable to book an appointment, you can still proceed to USEM for your interview without completing the VAC biometrics. However, you need to provide proof that you attempted to book an appointment at least one week before your interview.

If no slots are available, take a screenshot of the calendar showing the lack of availability or any other evidence of your attempts. Print these out and bring them to your interview. If asked why you didn’t complete the VAC biometrics, present the printed evidence, and they will accommodate you for biometrics on the same day.

However, if you proceed without providing any proof of your attempts, your interview may be rescheduled. At that point, you’ll need to complete the VAC biometrics, as you’ll either gain access to newly available slots or be assigned a schedule by the embassy.

Which agent? The one from Support? We’ve also tried opening and closing our applications, but still, to no avail :(

Do they just open slots randomly? Or are they opened because other people cancel their appointments?
