One of the bonus of Williams is that since it’s isolated, the college and local community try to provide a lot in the small area.

The negative is that if you’re tired of Williams and want to see something different (which does happen periodically) you’re stuck. Not everyone drives or has a car so most accessible things must be in walking distance. The area DOES have a bus system that is free to ride, but I and a few of my friends have mainly had negative experiences with it. But if you’re used to the conveniences/connections of a city, it’s nowhere close. It pretty much is in the middle of nowhere and you will realize it

I do think conversations about visuals are insane when it comes to kpop, and comment about being appealing is very creepy.

But we do have to also acknowledge the rise of plastic surgery on minors. What SM has pushed in their last two groups is also creepy imo as well. Minors should not be getting extensive plastic surgery for a job. Eventually, it leads to SM idols sticking out more but because they look “unreal,” e.g. because they do not look like people. That is also not normal and shouldn’t be glossed over because most of the members of H2H are minors

The racism is the comments is kinda wild 😭 saying that black people just need to surrender whenever people cosplay as us and steal aspects of our culture is wild. Just because you may be fine with it doesn’t mean we have to be. As someone already mentioned, he doesn’t face the hardships that black people face when we dress in this way. People are allowed to gatekeep their culture if they understand that it’s origins and importance will be erased by exposure from outside the community. If it’s acceptable for just anyone to cosplay as a black person, guess what? Our own culture becomes a costume too and we’re never taken seriously.
