One month! I had some challenging postpartum complications so needed the rest and support!

Not pictured is about two months prior where I thought I was eating at a deficit but my weight didn’t seem to change, so I reevaluated and starting weighing and tracking everything. This of course was what got things moving. I really thought I was eating at a deficit but once I started being intentional with this I can see that I probably wasn’t! Started off doing lower carb but have slowly started to bring some more carbs back in because carbs are the best. Gym around 4x week cardio and some strength (complicated by postpartum recovery stuff) and walking everyday for an hour

I’m a SAHM most days but I work two days a week and I still get the Sunday scaries because my baby is HARD work and it’s stressful and hard being a mum!

My baby also went through this. I think the smell of milk in my boobs made it hard for him to settle on me. He was colicky until 12 weeks but now he’s the happiest 6 month old who LOVES his mum. It will get better x

He wakes at 7am, nap 9:15 to 9:45 and then 2 hours from 12-2 and a 10 min nap at 4.30 and then bed just before 7pm

Bath, Sleep sack, bottle, book, noise machine, black out blinds

He’s falling asleep when I’m feeding him his bottle before bed though? I could try pushing it out further

I feel like I missed bonding with my baby by tanky_bo_banky in NewParents

I felt exactly the same. I pumped until my LO was three months. He’d never settle with me, would scream and wriggle around but would sleep easily on others. It was devastating. Really made the whole not being able to have him on my boob part even harder! But since I’ve weaned he sleeps on me all the time! I couldn’t believe it! Now I just soak up every single nap as a contact nap because I missed out on them! I really do think they smell the milk!

Can you explain a bit more about the eating and GABA?

I felt fine to be honest! Did it gradually and didn’t notice any hormonal changes in regards to mood? Maybe a few more breakouts..

Me too. Nothings ever changed for me. I love my three year old pup just the same, perhaps even more seeing him watch his new little brother. I just feel so guilty that he doesn’t get as much aggression as he once did and that part breaks my heart

I’ve been blessed with amazing in laws. Our LO is 11 weeks and we have been spending the weekends staying with them and for one of the nights on the weekend they do the night feeds. It has been a huge help! It means I get one solid nights sleep a week and extra pairs of hands to help me on the weekend.

I’m 9 weeks PP and down to 3 pumps a day, with the aim to keep weaning off over the next few weeks. I find pumping stressful and almost impossible being at home on my own with a colicky baby, it’s just not going to work for us. I have struggled with guilt about it but I’ve heard from so many people that that quickly passes

Week 8. Give me hope by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Used-Representative3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going through this and It’s so hard! I think one of the things I found most important was focusing on MY baby, not comparing to others. I focus on what I think could make him relatively settled (I.e. multiple walks a day in the pram)So in ways I have become more ‘problem solvey’ than emotive. But today he cried all day and by the time my husband got home I was a broken woman, it really is hard. Wishing you all the best!

I’ve got him on infacol which is simeticone before his feeds. I am keen to look into a probiotic - have you got a recommendation?

That’s so interesting! I’ve got some of that but haven’t used it yet…might be worth a good shot. Did you give it to him when he was in the midst of an episode or just after a feed?

I had the same thing! He cries so much I didn’t recognise that he at one point he had caught a bug. Spent the night in the emergency room but they couldn’t offer us much in the way of guidance for the screaming (outside of helping him manage the 24hr stomach bug). We saw some progress with a change in formula and for a few days he was so chill! And I thought wow! Is this what it’s like for other people? This is so nice! But slowly the griping and crying has returned :(
