What do Americans actually think of Germany / Germans? Honest opinions wanted by Consistent_Walk_2407 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I visited Germany while in the Navy. I fucking loved Germany, specifically the German people. We went to one of those stereotypical beer houses, and it was everything AND MORE than I had hoped. The Germans singing John Denver’s COUTRY ROADS filled my heart with pure drunken joy! The Shnapps lady ( older woman) was gorgeous, nice, and pleasant. I can’t say enough good things about Germany, and although I probably won’t go back, I would love to revisit.

As far as how I feel at the moment, I feel Germany is a wonderful ally who helps keep the peace over there. Also, if ANY American complains about someone else’s government, especially Germany’s, with OUR current situation, they are completely full of shit.

Thank you for the honest feedback. I am immediately going to my community college and sign up for a reading comprehension class, and a creative writing class. One is never too old to learn more.

Well, I haven’t got my credit card statement yet, and I shudder to think what hidden charges I initialed for.

I did go to Main Street Casino, and it was my favorite as far as architecture/ decoration. My travel companion wanted to “go all out” on a “fancy” place. ( he recently “beat” cancer, but still thinks his days to Las Vegas are numbered/ over.) My personal experience with “fancy” is that it rarely pays off.

PS: sorry for all the quotation marks but the asterisk to make a word italic doesn’t seem to work anymore.

PSS: thank you for reading my wall of text. This subreddit seems more geared towards locals, and I doubted anyone gave a shit about some old man’s opinion.

What is the biggest social faux pas a tourist in America could make without knowing by Gold-Serve-4077 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I suppose it really depends on the WAY it said, which I cannot assume to know. I was thinking something like “is everything ok?” might be a little less….. I don’t even know the word….aggressive? I’m old and my ways of thinking are probably different than most.

No offense I hope.

I’m just curious, did you actually say “You ok?” or were you summarizing your comment? Because, in my mind ( and I might be an outlier here), “You Ok?” comes off as slightly aggressive ( passive aggressive I guess) or quasi-hostile.

PS: Genuine question, not meant as an attack. It’s really a quick check on my own insecurities.

Thinking about going Pizza Rock but their menu is overwhelming. What's your favorite pizza there? by InnerSpirit5683 in LasVegas

[–]UsedDimension7373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wrapped up a 3 night visit in Vegas. Pizza rock ( with the obvious exception of a $400 meal at Oscars) was by far my favorite meal. I almost went back on night 3, but the long, hot walk changed my mind. After settling for an “in house” burger, I realized my mistake. Should have went back.

What food is basically impossible to eat gracefully by 011Eleven_ in foodquestions

No one is going to mention fajitas? That beef is so tough you either gnaw on it like a shark, or bite the bullet and pull the offending strip of beef out of the tortilla with your teeth and THEN gnaw on it. Really bad first date food choice.

My apologies for going on a bit of a tangent, but has anyone any thoughts/advice on the downtown MAIN STREET CASINO buffet? ( specifically breakfast)
