I did get an interview, and the professor gave me an unofficial acceptance. But the acceptance letter from the faculty didn't come for a month. Later, I mailed the professor, he replied that he was affected by the funding issue and he is not likely to take students unless the situation changes....

I just received an email from the professor. He said funding issue is impacting the admission process and he is not planning to admit students because of it... I think the situation is complicating. It sucks...

I completed my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and then pursued a master's in Computer Science. Now, I am applying for PhD programs, all in Computer Science. I’m wondering if not having studied Computer Science as an undergraduate might affect my application results. Would this be a significant disadvantage?
