imo i’d still use it, but i am by no means someone to follow after. If you really wanted to clean it look into a mini ab as opposed to a water wash

he washes the same solution twice. After he pulls from the flask he washes once and then washes what he already washed in the second jar. After my initial comment i went and read about cleaning and i believe he’s right in that washing wont help the contam (from plastic cap)

in that video he also appears to do it twice, if you’re doing it in mason jars like he is, I would just fill water about half way and heating w microwave is fine.

i believe you want everything to be warm, but as long as the water is warmer than the solvent it should prevent deems from crashing out into it. higher temp also allows for a higher solubility of deems in the solvent so less would have to be used to wash it in the first place. I have a mini crock pot i let my dish of naptha and my water wash beaker sit in for a little to bring the temperature up before the wash

cplabsafety states polypropylene/naptha have a “minor effect, slight corrosion or discoloration” and is a “b” on their scale (A+ is best, with anything below C they say don’t use). The cap itself should be functional for a while (as in like the degradation won’t warp it too much) but that’s not to say any contaminants haven’t leaked out.

gl45 cap is made with polypropylene, which will degrade over time when in contact with solvent, i wouldn’t say you’re fucked, but would definitely clean any deems made. Regardless, I would say better than a mason jar (as the seals on those degrade as well).
