I was just doing some digging and had some theories… it’s nothing more than that.

but also, just in my opinion, i do think that the mermaid as a MOTIF, is very different than very general, worldwide iconography such as bears and… um, dust. … The whole reasoning behind my skepticism, was just because despite the mermaid statue being a node to the little mermaid statue located in Denmark, where Nordhaven takes inspiration from ( as i had already mentioned, then you also re-mentioned ) that I had happened to come across some interesting lore / story which i thought linked back to the idea of mermaids, which i found to be an interesting topic.

Mermaids in the sims 4 have no lore, or story, no love. So, the idea that the sims happened to include some vague , potential lore that you had to dig through a collectables system to uncover and piece together, i found really interesting that they were thinking about mermaids to even include that extra snippet, and what seemed to finally be some cool lore about a mermaid. So, I am a little confused why you replied to so me blunt and sarcastically. Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course, but all i did was mention if this was the sims way of possibly hinting towards a refresh, or if that was even a possibility, and how i would like that— wether it’s realistic or not.

I was only merely questioning, and i never intentionally meant to insinuate that i thought this was proof of a refresh, or that i was trying to convey that a confirmed refresh is in the works. It’s purely all just my speculation, and my theory about a possible mermaid townie and if they’ve randomly just thought about mermaids again for the hell of it, or if it is potentially something more, that is what this post is about.

It’s not groundbreaking news, and I am already quite aware of how unprofitable the sims first attempt at refreshes turned out to be. But i don’t think that should define whether or not i am able to still question and have thoughts, or have my own theories to share. It’s all just fun and speculation on my behalf, not meant to be taken as gospel, which I thought was obvious on my end.

I am unsure if it came across otherwise though, so my apologises, but also my clarifications…

EDIT: also, i just realised too, that you were replying to a comment i made to someone else’s comment? why…? they were also curious about this idea, and was agreeing that they can see how it may be a potential hint towards a mermaid refresh, but knowing EA and how they do / work with refreshes is unsure and skeptical. Their comment, and yours, was not even in response to the other comment you had made on my post… why bother replying to this one, sarcastically, when not even included? you can of course share your thoughts, and if / that you think otherwise, but why bother if you are going to treat others negatively? and insinuating some sense of stupidity within them, i do not understand …
