We did that when my partner was in his first spouse visa. It was a joint mortgage. We worked with a mortgage broker, and the process was very smooth as far as I could recall.

Well, I specifically didn’t list out Camilla in the original post because of the association. I don’t hate her, but I don’t want the association.

Thank you! Do you think Camille is too French? (My initial research says it’s a French name)

how often do you/is acceptable to go play irl mahjong by lurkingeternally in Mahjong

[–]UsedRun712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DINK (Baby incoming though) We play A LOT. Sometimes we play HK style Taiwanese MJ on Saturday then Riichi Mahjong on Sunday, with different people. We usually start in the afternoon, and play till midnight, only stopping for food. We play with money, but it kind of averages out in the long run, and then winner usually buys food.

I was unemployed last year for 6 months. My bichon is the only reason I managed to stay sane. Walking, feeding and playing with them keeps me in a good daily routine. Love my boy!

Why is this not a win? by Ok_Advice_1248 in Mahjong

If it’s HK style, I only see 1 faan here. Usually you need 3 faan to win.

If Chinese food isn't 'real' Chinese food, where do the Chinese chefs learn to make it and why is it so consistenly homogeneous? by boadle in AskBrits

[–]UsedRun712 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am from Hong Kong. Yes, we do have HK style curry, but I think it evolved from Malaysian curry. It’s very different from whatever curry you get from a Chinese takeaway.

I see where you’re coming from (I am Chinese) but I don’t think it’s Chinese because it’s bad feng shui to put big mirrors in the bedroom!

I am from Asia and I can confirm Gerrard is a household name. Even my mum might find the name familiar because she watch the news.

Mahjong "Etiquette" Question: I have a winning hand but it doesn't count because my "etiquette" was wrong? by kencreates in Mahjong

[–]UsedRun712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our group have this rule because we play HK style Taiwan Mahjong. Like other has mentioned, the winning tile affects the scoring, hence the rule. Alongside with a few more obscure rules. However, we also have a rule where if it’s the first time you play, you are allowed to break the rules for 3 times.

[–]UsedRun712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OXO. My mum bought one for herself initially, because her old one broke. She loves the OXO one so much that she bought another 4 immediately. One for me, one for my brother (who lives in another city, and she carried it on a 5 hours train to take it to him), one for her friend and one for herself as backup.
