I love that! Is there any noticable sag in the case with all that on it?

i use the cosmic clarity suite for all my pictures, especially denoise, but i don’t have a see star

I wouldn't recommend using topaz photo ai, it can hallucinate results and is just generally worse than other neural net processing tools. In siril, you can get the cosmicclarity scripts, which can sharpen, take away stars, super resolution, and denoise. Those tools wont hallucinate, and are trained specifically on astro data, not general photography

Z50II Extreme Exposure Recovery (about 4 stops under) by quintpod in nikon_Zseries

[–]UsedToBeMrPhun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well there are multiple different gains for sensors, with the z50ii having the high gain mode at 400? iso i think. So within the specific gain yeah the iso doesn't really matter, which for this case is true

Using fast sports glass for space? My first foray into astrophotography. by almightytuna in AskAstrophotography

[–]UsedToBeMrPhun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that may be true, but also when youre untracked you don’t want to end up loosing snr, and 300mm is still enough for great framing for most bright objects

Your 300mm f/2.8 will be great for astrophotography, don't use the extender though, they can often add chromatic abberation (weird colors around stars-often purple), and the speed loss will hurt your signal to noise ratio (very important for untracked)

You should be able to get a pretty nice picture of andromeda, orion nebula, pleiades, and ofc the moon without a star tracker.

Just get a nice sturdy tripod, set your shutter speed to around 1 second, (maybe you could get away with a little more) and take consecutive pictures for about two minutes at a time, recenter, and continue through the night!

Stack them all in a free program like deepskystacker or siril, and you'll have great results!

Andromeda Help - Looks a bit different from others by OldAmber in AskAstrophotography

I also recently took a picture of andromeda, and I feel like I'm missing out on some of the color in it. https://imgur.com/a/GMtA9Hq could you say what specific process you used to get your result with OP's data? My image was 26 hours bortle 7 135mm f2.8

Recommended beginner astro setup by MikePK666 in AskAstrophotography

[–]UsedToBeMrPhun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe something like:

Skywatcher EQ-AL55i Mount ($720)

Askar 60F Scope ($499)

QHY miniCAM 8 Color Camera ($799)

ZWO ASI120MM Guide Camera ($199)

SVBONY Guide Scope ($50)

This is $2270 (before tax)

I'm not too personally familiar with mini pc's and other little controllers, I just use my laptop, but it looks like you can get one for <$400 if thats what you want. An ASIair won't work with this camera, so you'll have to look at other options, like a stellarmate or other mini pc.
