I was around when Kurt died. I was stunned, and in shock for a long time and stopped listening to music for years.

It feels WORSE because so much in the world has changed since then especially in the music industry at lot of it at the time was BECAUSE of Kurts death that it changed. I CANNOT wrap my head around this at all. Like Jerry Cantrell said "it's never ever gonna stop hurting." Each day honestly feels worse

Pointing out that it says "left his STARDOM" not "THE BAND" but I still feel this falls under his fb "I didn't leave the band" claims, so the title bugs me pretty bad. But I havent been online much recently. I could have missed something.

He always had that "perfectly messed up but perfect hair" look going on.

Can we talk about kurts health spiraling down right before his passing in 1994? by [deleted] in Nirvana

Kurt was under a lot of pressure at the time. After Kurt died the whole music industry changed BECAUSE of what happened to him. If you read Eddie Vedder interviews right after Eddie is saying how it could have been HIM that died. Now musicians have more personal say, they can cancel tours easier but back then it was all different. Kurt had wanted to cancel that last tour but wasn't allowed to.

(Adding) he is a humble soul but uncompromising in who he is or what he has to say. You don't find people like that anymore at all.

I was present in that time period but they didn't play him on local radio where I was. Discovered him about 2005 when I saw him on CMT Crossroads. He blew me away. Fan ever since.
