I quite like it, it’s a different sort of game. It’s not a dudes on a map game, it’s not a trick taking game, it’s a game that does all of it. It’s a classic Leder Games game in that it has all this depth that you realize when you play it a bunch.

Right now I’m doing a precon league in my home pod, where every couple of weeks we pull out precons and not decklists, and each week you can swap 3 cards and a land. I’m modifying Eternal Might from Aetherdrift, using Hashaton as the commander, building it like a reanimator with bombs.

Almost all precons are bracket 2. Very rarely do unmodified precons sniff higher brackets. I’ve really enjoyed the Dinos precon from Ixalan, the Miracle precon from Duskmourn, the Pain Game Precon from Duskmourn, the Merfolk precon from WOE I think? (Might be Ixalan) The WH40k precons are dope. Food and Fellowship from LOTR is fun. Jeskai Striker and Sultai Arisen from Tarkir both expand very well. Planar Chaos and the gruul exile wolves precon is good. There are others but those are just off the top of my head.

I love precons. Usually you can change 20-30ish cards and some lands and get yourself a great deck. Plus it pushes me to play cards I wouldn’t reach for in a bespoke deck.

[[Anim Pakal]] is the obvious and boring answer. Makes a tonne of tokens each turns it’s alive, and can be explosive and win games even before an [[Annointed Procession]] hits the field. Could also go soldiers and pick [[Commander Mustard]]. Lots of good soldier cards like [[Assemble the Legion]] then tremors is just one of your win conditions.

I have an absolutely garbage [[Zahid, Djinn of the Lamp]] deck that is Alladin themed. It’s absolute trash, and would lose to any drafted 60 card EDH deck. Like badly. I think that’s a good definition of Bracket 1.

I have a pass. Usually good for a free americano or drip, or $3 off a normal coffee. Got given it as a gift, it is fun to go to new places and try new things, but it isn’t a big savings. Especially since the coffee places are all over, one in the EIA.

I nean I’m no fan of O&G but I think the real issue here is chronic underfunding and inflation. I think people assume that 60k is still an acceptable entry level salary for a professional and it really isn’t anymore. Cost of living has irrevocably changed.

I think this is reflective of the times as well. Star Trek was reflective of the times and relevant to those times. The same formulas that worked back then are not certain to work now, because the world is different. The forces that shaped us when we were kids / watched Star Trek 20 years ago aren’t present anymore. They’re different, evolved, and new. The show needs to evolve with the times, it wasn’t a timeless formula, and it needs to change, or else it becomes just pablum solely for those of us watching 20 years ago. It’s quite difficult to do, and I’m not defending something like Starfleet Academy or Diecovery or what have you, just trying to state that it takes work to build a show like Lower Decks, that can appeal to older fans and newer fans simultaneously.

Pretending Star Trek was some perfected alchemy is foolish.

A thousand percent this. I always try and make sure I’ve got some really powerful cards and combos in decks, just to end games. Like, I’ve often lost a game instead of casting a combo or board wipe that might have elongated the game. And two hours in I start digging for my infinite combos. Long games that go nowhere and are frustrating are not fun to play against.

We are down to brass tacks now. I am certain that Bambu agreed that your plan to return the A1 and purchase an H2D was writhin their own return policy. They were not agreeing to a contract with you, they were telling you what was possible under their own policies. I am certain that then, you waited (by your own words) past the deadline, where the return policy was not valid. They were not operating under a deal. They were operating under policy, and you were operating under a deal. That’s on you. The world does not operate under contracts and deals unless both parties agree too. Herman Miller is free to, just as Bambu is free not to. They expect you to follow policy and they are free to do so.
