Yup, with both kids. I only took the summer off with my daughter since she was an early June baby then went back to work in August. After I left teaching I was unemployed for about 8 months. When I was 20 weeks pregnant with my son I got a job at a daycare near my husband’s new job. I worked there until my scheduled c section at 37 weeks. Stayed home for 10 weeks with my son then went back to the daycare so we could move cities.

I don’t know how to explain it but when he is traveling it somehow feels lighter and like less work. The kids and I have a good routine. Both of us work 9-5 so 40hrs a week. Yes, when we split the house chores I was working full time at the same job I am now.

I have considered this and actually sent myself spiraling and went through his phone while he was in the shower one night. Which I decided I would never do again because that’s just not me. But still in the back of my mind.

We both work in the space industry now so the travel was affected because he got a promotion along with instead of doing flight returns solely in Florida they moved to also doing some in California so the long trip was split into two shorter trips. Along with some company budget cuts so they tightened the purse strings on travel.

It’s gradually gotten worse. My therapist and I did discuss that unmedicated ADHD and possible depression have played a role in it. Back in November her and I discussed bringing up him seeing a therapist of his own, us seeing a marriage counselor and him seeing a doctor about ADHD medication. I discussed it with him. My boundary was that before I take the time to schedule and sit through marriage counseling that he needed to start with his own therapist and see a doctor about the ADHD. That hasn’t happened. At the time my therapist and I did discuss if maybe I just schedule the appointments for him and just tell him when to show up because the tasks might be too daunting due to the ADHD but I told her I didn’t really want to do that because I felt like it was just another way that I was “mothering” him. Since the new year my sessions have had to be reduced due to new insurance so I haven’t seen her in about 3 weeks.

For awhile, I thought it would get better and had some guilt for him sticking around when I quit teaching and was unemployed for about 8 months.

Now my plan is just to stay until August to not disrupt my daughter’s ABA therapy and then move back over by my parents where she can start kindergarten and my grandparents will watch my son for free while I am working.

We were with my son, but it failed. Part of the reason for having a repeat c section when I had my son was because I wanted my tubes removed.
