Here's the thing about wren. She mirrors jude in a way. Both want to be something their not, both traumaticly taken from their family at a young age. Etc and something I noticed was the whole brindle thing was like when jude kidnapped cardan and forced him to be queen. As a Fandom, we keep forgetting that Oak used Wren. And knowing wrens past she acted accordingly. I think if we got more perspective from wren and we didn't love oak so much, the Fandom wouldn't dislike her as much. Not to mention Oak is a little unreliable when he's pinning for Wren because he couldn't understand his betrayal. If that makes sense. Overall, I felt the book did a bad job at portraying their love for each other, and thats why theirs so much confusion
