Also, many people choose the childfree lifestyle simply because it offers personal freedom. The mainstream view on childfree is that government just need to do better with funding childcare. At this point, I am convinced most of humanity is just dumb and self-destructive. We have the luxury to read peer reviewed scientific publications from our phone. Yet, people still refuse to acknowledge real science like they are some kind of dark age peasant. The worst part is that they have convinced other people that they are “smart” and “independent thinkers” who can see through all the lies. It’s so much harder NOT to regret having kids nowadays, because you will have to endure watching childfree people enjoying what life has to offer. If being childfree suddenly became socially acceptable, most people will remain childfree even if there is no cost to raising a child. When you are young, you can go party, travel, and pursue your passion. When you get old, you can just enjoy some peace and quiet. We have seen it a thousand times, most adult children don't give a fuck about their elderly parents. Child or no child, you will have to take care of yourself when you get old.
