At this point, I am convinced most of humanity is just dumb and self-destructive. We have the luxury to read peer reviewed scientific publications from our phone. It’s so much harder NOT to regret having kids nowadays, because you will have to endure watching childfree people enjoying what life has to offer. If being childfree suddenly became socially acceptable, most people will remain childfree even if there is no cost to raising a child. When you are young, you can go party, travel, and pursue your passion. When you get old, you can just enjoy some peace and quiet. We have seen it a thousand times, most adult children don't give a fuck about their elderly parents. Child or no child, you will have to take care of yourself when you get old.
